Imperials forever!

Well time to show my skyrim fanboyism

While the game certainly tries to sway you towards the Stormcloaks in the beginning with how the Imperials are trying to execute you, once you progress further it really becomes more gray as morally there really is no good side and bad side, they both have their pros and cons so it's really subjective and comes down to what you value more.

I personally went with the imperials mainly for two reasons.

Firstly the racism, a lot of stormcloak followers in general are racist often making comments about your race if you happen to be argonian or just in general screaming things like "SKYRIM IS FOR THE NORDS!" when you literally charge into battle as someone that isn't a nord alongside them.

This goes for Ulfric Stormcloak as well. An example is the stormcloak stronghold windhelm, where the argonians are more or less condemened to live in a slum and are constantly harrased by locals. And he does nothing to change that. Try to justify that as you want but I can't really see that being okay.

Also just Ulfric in general because besides being racist he's more or less an a**hole. He acts really entitled and seems to mostly just care about his own needs and being power hungry.

I mean I think the only lore reason he'd let argonians and khajiits be his champion (besides developers not wanting to bar off content ) is to use them because he knows they're powerful.

Like I said though the imperials have problems too. I mean there's the obvious ban on talos worship, I understand that is justified by some as it is mainly to keep the thalmor at bay but, I don't really see taking away religious freedom justified no matter what the situation and they really do act as the thalmors puppet even if they try justify that by doing it to protect the people.

How they manage the whole establishment really seems problematic (not saying that the stormcloaks are the most organized mind you) and there seems to be a lot of corruption in it.

There's also the whole argument about how they're seemingly intolerant to the culture, though I don't think that's as big of a problem as some others, especially since by the end of the imperial questline General Tullius seem to have become more understanding about it.

There's also the whole argument about which side would be better for eventually ending the reign of the thalmor but there is really an argument for both sides there, and personally I don't really care because either side will have the Dragonborn who slays dragons as it's not even really a big deal, so I think they should be able to manage taking out the Thalmor as well

The whole Imperal vs Stormcloak questline could've been a lot better done though, while there's certainly a lot of lore and backstory surronding the actual quests were kind of dissapointing especially since the developers got lazy and the gameplay is more or less the exact same thing. Even so I do like that they tried to make it so there was no good or bad besides during the beginning.

On my playstation, I went with the Imperials, allthough never liking the Emperor (or the concept of a king) and also killing him in the Dark Brotherhood quest line. Why? Whilest Ulfric did save me in Helgen, the Stormcloaks are racists, and I was a High Elf in my playstation playthrough. And I think I'm gonna go for the same on my laptop! I just don't like the Stormcloaks... 

Allthough, I have to say, Ulfric has an amazing voice. I could listen to that guy all day! 

(Also in my playstation playthrough, Ulfric has been dead for MONTHS and he's still laying dead in the Palace?? (Without clothes though) And the nobles keep eating as though nothing is laying there.. Thought that was funny.)
