I know they was a thread about this somewhere, but more in likely it closed due to age, so I'll post it on here

Where do you normally see and hear before you happen to buy that game?

For me, normally, I know about the game either on the Official website or from IGN. Although for my entire past, I have got interested with demos and videos of YouTube though. That's where I would normally hear on a video game I like to try out.

I always find out from websites. Usually I find out by going to blog.us.playstation.com, and sometimes I check IGN or gameinformer, also I check some other resources online.

I know that's a lot, but given how I include upcoming game lists in my articles, I have to be sure to stay as up to date on releases as possible.

As for your other listed methods, I have no family that games except for some cousins that I never see or talk to, and I have no friends offline. xD And finally I have no way to play demos because I have no current system, and I don't have enough time or data to spend time on YouTube channels unless I need a specific video to link someone to.

I used to find about about new gaming series by browsing Nintendo eShop on my 3DS.

Now I rarely use my 3DS, and I'm subscribed to emails from Nintendo, so I normally find out by opening a new email from Nintendo. Sometimes I see commercials on TV about new series too.
