Any advice for a guy looking to join up with the US airforce straight out of graduation?

thing1 : So, what's your favorite video game series? That should be an easy one.

bigfoot192 : Pretty much. As long as it is respectful and follows the rules of the site, you can ask me anything you want within reason. Whether or not I choose to answer it though... that's another story. 

BluemagKyle: Well, I was a Army, and we make a lot of jokes about the " Chair Force " . I guess it would depend on what kind of advice you are looking for? Being in shape? Just some terminology? Stuff like that? What have you done at the recruiters, if anything, so far? 

greenluigi : My favorite video games series? Well, I would have to say that I don't have a definitive one, but if I was put on the spot, I'd have to say Halo. I mean, I love Mario as a whole because childhood and what not, but Mario Party definitely takes the cake for just Mario. I really loved Tetris as a kid, too. Gears of War I really liked, so it should be interesting to see what Judgement's sequel is going to be. But I would have to say Halo is leading the way right now.

thing1 : What is your favorite kind of Sports? Another easy question, I guess.

why in the world do you have this?

cnw64 : I would say it is. I mean, over the past 4 years and change, I would say that I have spent a great deal of it on this site. I may not be as active now as I used to be with posting, or trying to win everything, but my heart is still with this site. 

greenluigi : I like American football the best probably. I made my high school team both years I tried out, but both years, I decided to walk off the team before the season started so that I could focus on my studies more. 
I think my second favorite sport would have to be baseball. I played recreation league one year when growing up, and I still have some fond memories of that time. My team tied for best in the league at 58 wins and 3 losses ( I want to say it was something like that. I know we only had 3 losses, and usually played 2 or 3 games a week ). Those 3 games we lost, well, we also beat that team a few times too. So, we had to play a 3 game playoff for the championship. We lost the series, 2 - 1. I was always considered the best player in practice, but I had horrible stats when it came to game time. I actually had a chance to win the title for us. You know, every kids dream? Bottom of the last inning, 2 outs, bases loaded... I worked a full count, fouled off a few pitches, and then I got a nice one. I hit it deep, but it just went foul. Then I got the exact same pitch, and I whiffed. So, that still haunts me. And it hurt. 
After that, I would have to say what Americans call soccer, as I usually go and play with a nice sized group on Tuesdays. I don't go on Thursday because I usually don't have the money to spare to go to the indoor arena, and I usually don't go on Friday where we play outside on Tuesday as well for free because I'm usually too tired from work. 

Makalya : Because I asked the globals at the start of the Tour de Vizzed, and they told me to ask them again after the Tour de Vizzed. Why, do you have a problem with me having an Ask Anything thread that has been approved by the globals?

Snowdeath : I wasn't implying that you were trying to flame me. Was just giving you a summon to show you the explanation since you like Makayla's post, so I figured you had the same question. 

Makalya : Didn't seem very funny to me. And the wording didn't help either. But all is forgiven. 

thing1 : well I plan on being a JTAC which is anything but the chair force, which bores me to death. Pretty much JTAC calls in airstrikes and works as foot soldier esque guys. I'm just looking for advice for adjusting to that kind of military structured life

BluemageKyle : Well, for the military structured life aspect of it, as you call it, I can help a bit there. But, I'll tell you how to prep for Army Basic, since that would probably help you get mentally prepared. Everything else just comes naturally as you learn it. 

When you find out your Basic Training date, get used to getting up at 5 AM. Get used to working out for an hour and a half starting at 0530. Try looking up or asking the recruiter what a normal day of PT is like. Get used to only having 10 minutes to eat 3 times a day, nothing else in between. No candy. Get used to cleaning and doing pointless things. Basically, get used to pushing yourself beyond your limits.
