Definitely Death Note. The only problem with that is that Death Note only had 30+ episodes (I don't remember the exact number) while One Piece has 400+ episodes and is still ongoing... I think Death Note should still be running, since it's an awesome show.

Death Note for sure. Its one of my favorite animes ever. Its so complex and really makes you think. Besides that as others have said its much shorter. I hate long animes. 50 episodes is my max attention span, if its longer than that i can almost guarantee i wont watch all of it. It happened with FMA. I thought it was an awesome anime but after episode 30 or so i just gave up. Same with naruto. It looks cool but its got so many episodes I dont even bother.

I think they're so totally different it's a bit hard to compare the two, but i watched the first three episodes of One Piece and didn't want to watch any more. I hate monkeys, and the guy being named Monkey doesn't help, lol

I've seen a few death notes, and they were alright, but I'd have to watch the series in order to like it. Sadly, the first episode I ever saw was the series finale of the American translation, and it was really strange and I couldn't tell what was going on. If i ever have the time though, I plan to watch Death Note, but that's in line after Eva, lucky star, and Full Metal Alchemist.

Death Note definitely. It had a far better storyline and was much more addictive than One Piece. It took me a while to get into One Piece. I read the first chapter of Death Note and I was instantly hooked.

For One Piece I've seen the anime and manga. Hands down the manga is the better of the two. Death Note I've watched in it's entirety. Death Note has twists and turns. Whether you love or hate Light you want to see what happens. One Piece is always unique and has a different storyline with each story arc. But the formula gets a little stale after a while. I Like both of these series, but I've always like animes like Death Note more because they just have more mystery and intelligence to them, and you get more into the intelectual side of the storyline. But, while I'm talking about that I like the Anime Code Geass even more than Death Note because it's the smae kind of anime, but it's much more in depth and you get into the story more than you ever would with Death Note.

Honestly thay are both great animes and mangas for that matter but I loved Deathnote the storyline was awesome and for a little while I was addicted to it and I think they should make another season for it for someone like Light that finds a Deathnote

Light Yagamy (not sure if I spelled it right) finds out clever ways to effectively use the Death Note to kill criminals and the affections of Misa and her Shinigami to finally put an end to L's life. Too bad that one of his followers screwed up and the very Shinigami he had as a mutual companion writes his name in his Death Note and end his life at the end. I think his name was Ryuke or something that sounds like that, the show itself was very captivating. I haven't seen it in quite sometime.

I mean seriously... the story made no sense to me other than Luffy wanting to be King of the Pirates... I just couldn't get behind that. Death Note made more sense to me. It was extremely well thought out. The battle between Kira and L/Mello/Near made the series enjoyable and has become a standard I hold animes to.
