Steam is the worst run thing ever.

And I mean, ever.

North Korea is currently running better than Steam.

I hate steam.

First off, Steam is a monopoly. The only ways I am going to be able to play online games is through their service. Just because they are the only ones, shouldn't make them this bad of a company. I have many complaints, and I'll start with one of the main ones.

There is no customer service. There is ABSOLUTELY no way to contact steam. You can't even contact Valve. Steam doesn't have an e-mail, a phone number, or even a working support page. The support page doesn't even work and sends you off on to all of these other pages, but never ever lets you actually contact someone working at Steam or Valve. I have tried to contact them about many problems, but I can't. I have spent money on games just not to work. They have the single worst customer service on Earth.

Half the games don't work. I recently got two games from Davideo7 here on vizzed, Hitman Absolution and Snowcat simulator. Hitman has a problem where whenever I load up the game it says input not valid that just goes around the screen, so the game is unplayable. As for Snowcat simulator, I downloaded the game, but now it won't start. You heard me, the game won't even load up. It won't show any start screens or anything. Why is Steam selling games that don't work? I'd ask steam what is going on, but I can't. I can't talk to them.

Steam won't let me log in. I just changed my password through their really long process, and when I try to log in with that password and my username, it says it can't log in. Steam's log in service is broken, why is it so messed up? I can't log in to my account now, and guess what, I never will be able to cause I can't contact steam saying that I can't log in to my account.

These two games, Hitman Absolution and Snowcat simulator cost David $28 to get for me in his thread, he didn't expect them not to work.

Steam really needs to get everything together and open up a customer service center where I can ask what is going on. Steam games just have so many problems with them its obvious they don't care about anything but money. They have no testers and have no one to be able to help you with problems. That's just pathetic.

Thanks Steam for being the worst company to ever exist.

Technicalities, but Steam is a service.

The company is Valve.

You can always go to Origin if you want, but they are even worse.

Steam Support exists, but it just isn't very helpful.

This is why I stick to consoles, outside of not having a good PC.

legacyme3 :   Thing is, I can't afford consoles so I have to use steam.

And steam support does exist, but you can't submit questions to them, they have to be under the most broad groups ever.

And I honestly think that I'm going to start using Origin.

Barathemos :

I'm guessing the computer is either a family computer, or something that was super cheap. Because consoles are cheaper than computers, in most cases (when it comes to gaming PCs).

As for issues with specific games, you can go to the game's forum (each game has a forum set up, that you can access through the library), and ask the community, which is about 90x more helpful than Steam Support.

You can use Origin, but there's a reason I ditched it. I have two useless Origin accounts because of Dragon Age. I have games on there, but it's a f***ing mess to work with.

If a game doesn't work you should go the game's hub or google your problem. Mirror's Edge and Sonic and Sega Racing wouldn't work for me, but I found out how to fix it doing this. Others probably had the same problem as you.
Also the games didn't cost david $28. For hitman he bought a bundle that cost about 7 or 12 dollars, depending on the tier, which came with about 8 games.

earthwarrior : the thing is, I did google all of these problems, and it is just people having the same problems without there being a fix to it.

legacyme3 : yes it is a family computer

Barathemos : And that is mostly why I have stop using Steam back in 2011, mostly because of the same thing mostly. I would go back to Steam again after 4 years, but my computer isn't really in any good shape to handle Steam anymore, maybe if I get a more powerful computer, then I might, but that won't be till at least Christmas. But I'm planning to get a PS4 and Wii-U before then to put it into expectation. I am also sticking with the consoles. People think PC gaming is far more superior than Console/Handheld gaming, but that is proven false, they all seem the same to me.
