Patrick Star : I disagree with there being no reason to swear. Sometimes profanity can call attention to a specific point or highlight a word. Obviously, if you swear all the time it loses its power and becomes less of a point-maker.

Would I flame and swear? No. Arguing with people and staying after a discussion to just make fun of each other online is one of the dumbest things in the world. I feel sorry for people that derive satisfaction or feel strong and powerful if they feel like they 'win' online arguments. No one in the real world cares about your thoughts and they usually give up arguing because they found something more interesting. That's it. Flaming and making fun.... you're not winning anything and you're only proving you have low self-esteem if you have to dump on others to make yourself feel better.

Would I swear? Not on here because there's nothing I'm passionate about on Vizzed and not one single conversation has been deep enough to really elicit my opinions on a personal level. It's all fun and games and nothing is serious on here.

I would not swear or flame.

Even if Vizzed allows us to flame and swear, it's likely that I still won't do it. In real life, I don't swear so that has simply carried over into my actions online. As for flaming, I'm not a proponent of trying to start (pointless) arguments (much less perpetuate them) so I don't think I would be flaming either. In other words, I would still be acting more or less the way I have been on Vizzed all this time, although I would be walking through more flames.

Most likely no. I've never been someone to seriously flame people even if they start something (unless you're an ADC who goes 1/7 smite and blames the support aka me >.>). I occasionally swear but it's more out of frustration than anything or around certain friends that I know are okay with it. Either way the swearing rule on the site has never been one to particularly bother me, given the opinion I actually prefer it since it helps keep a more civil tone.

In a chatroom? Sure thing. On the board? No. I've changed a lot and I'd rather be an upstanding gentleman on the board and casually talk and occasionally swear in chat as long as I know the other people are fine with it.

Being a gentleman is cool.

I actually wouldn't do that, mostly because I can express myself without those words, and I don't ridicule people unless I have a VERY good reason to, which isn't usually the case, it's more I'm frustrated with them or angry at myself for something, but I never take it out on other people.

I'm going to have to say no. There is a time and a place for everything, and this is neither time nor place for that. This site is about video games, and meeting new friends. All that would do is just leads to fights, and with fights comes drama, and that just sucks the fun out of everything.

Not sure if what I'll post was already posted since i didn't read all of the replies (I have faith though that what I'm about to say no one has posted).

Even if Vizzed didn't have the swear filter, I trust that people who have to use swear words are unintelligent.

I swear a lot in real life, but when it comes to the internet is really don't do it. Just out of respect to the person I talk with. If it going to be allowed on this site I will not do it since it not allowed now so why start when this site helps me get better and better with my writing English.

tRIUNE : I wouldn't go as far as to say unintelligent. I swear a lot, and find myself very smart, but as I said there is a time and a place. I don't see the point in swearing on a family friendly site. We have a lot of kids on this site, and weather we want to see it or not. They will do what we do. We are the people they will look up to. I say we teach respect. Who's with me!!!!!

I'm a redneck, And there for speak like one. Basically, I swear a lot (Thanks, mom and dad) So I'm sure if I could swear on here I probably would, but not as much as I do in real life.

Now, I'm also pretty smart, So I know flaming would get me nowhere, so I wouldn't. I'd stick to my normal intelligent responses

I would swear a little bit, sure. But I don't think that I would flame unless some jerk was really asking for a dose of their own medicine. 

Obviously not, swearing just shows your immaturity to an extent. Imagine if my ambiguity was ruined by a single swear. I would not allow that to happen. It seems that kids these days feel that swearing is the only way to prove themselves worthy of being, "cool", so to speak. Kinda arbitary if you ask me.

As for flaming? That's kinda controversial anywhere you go to be completely honest. To flame is to insult and deliberate someone. That's just plain inhumane and unlike how Vizzed should be: family-friendly.

I would swear a bit more, but no flaming from me, since I'm not that kind of guy. If the PG moniker went away, I would throw around more colorful language. I'm fine with the PG setting.

Even if I had the option to swear or flame, I still wouldn't do either because I find it unnecessary and vulgar. As things are now, I am able to communicate and deal with problems without the use of swearing or flaming, so they really aren't needed. In real life, I don't have they type of temperament that would employ the use of flaming and swearing. If I ever need to stress something or argue a point, then I have an entire arsenal of sharp, explicit words at my disposal that get the job done just fine.

Ultimately, I think swearing shows a lack of control and intelligence. Perhaps swearing might have been more effective at one point, but with how pervasive it is in today's society and vocabulary, I think it has definitely declined in effectiveness. As with most things though, there is a time and a place for it (depending on the person), but I don't see the need for it, personally.

Probably not. I swear from time to time, sure, but I don't see myself often needing to swear at children on a forum where intellectual discourse is encouraged.

Flaming? Definitely not. I'm not the kind o gal to go around picking fights. Swearing is a different story. I don't swear as often as I used to, but I still do it from time to time, so I wouldn't be surprised if I swore occasionally on here without the kid friendly filter.

I can answer this with the vague "yes/no" but I'll make my answer very technical.

Swearing will always be a yes, unless I discover the people I speak to aren't fond of swearing. That's when I tone down my language because I don't want to make them uncomfortable. 

Flaming will normally be a no, but knowing myself based on twitter, there will be times where I will blatantly insult someone, and I wouldn't care if they can see it or not. Of course, I have made a goal this year to not engage myself in petty arguments, but there's no doubt that I will express my anger on twitter, but I try to go out of my way to not flame.

Basically, I wouldn't flame and I would try not to, but swearing is a yes until I notice I make my crowd uncomfortable, and as of late, I tend to tone my swearing down.

Swear? Yes, Flame? Well if someone acts like a moron to me, of course I will troll them lol. But I don't mind swearing at all. Hell I do it quite a bit lol.
