Even in genres I'm not fond of, there are some songs that fall into them that I'm fine with. Never the less, I'm not a fan of the mainstream pop, rap, or country genres. Most of today's country music is just generic pop rock with a "southern" accent and theme plus a banjo thrown on top. I dislike most rap (not hip-hop, that's different) just because of the usually filthy lyrics. Regular chart topping pop hits drive me nutty due to the minimal talent, boring sound, and annoying vocals. I see eight year old kids singing about getting drunk and screwed over...

I really can listen to just about any genre of music (Depending on my mood) with the exception of Country music. I really think most of it is totally un-inspired.

I can listen to pretty much any music unless its from back in the 1900's like really old or if its jazz. I mean if I am in a good mood, I could probably listen to some of that kind of music. Country kind of grew on me some because that's all my mother listened to growing up .. but I still don't like a lot of it.

For me, it's mostly country and certain kinds of rap music.  Now, I do have exceptions in any genre.  Bands I like who are in genres I generally dislike, and vice versa.  However, for the most part, I dislike country and rap.

I really don't like a lot of hip-hop music released after about 2001 either. Most of the music I hear now is all beat and no-lyrics. Just repeating the same thing over and over again lol. At least that's my opinion on it.

I listen to songs from every genre and enjoy most of them, but one genre I can't stand is J-Pop. 

Bubblegum Pop made even louder and cutesy? Really not my thing.

I absolutely HATE country music. It just sounds awful and is just all around terrible. Idk what it is with me and country music, but we can't get along.

I also don't really like rap, I never know what they're saying. 

Barathemos: I find it's more a matter of how they say it rather than understanding what they say. There was this young (about 10 years younger than I am) rapper in Central Canada who had excellent lyrics. Unfortunately, rapping simply scrapped his poetry and made it uninteresting.

I feel the same for country too. It's generally depressing music for which I don't care, even when there are good lyrics - Teri Clark has a few good songs like "I've got better things to do".

I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate from this but, I absolutely hate dubstep. I just don't get why people treat it as the next biggest thing. C'mon this genre is being used on everything from movie themes, video game commercials, and to stupid clothes ads. To be honest I haven't heard of a new rock song for about 3 straight years! If you like it, that's fine with me but I don't like it. I may be the only person on this site who likes this genre called Gabber.

There is a bit of music I don't really like listening to, and all of that is non-rock songs. Although I do listen to a couple of rap songs and a couple of other weird music. But most of the time, if it isn't rock, I don't like it.

Jordanv78 : I do agree, music now a days doesn't have any lyrics or even any rhythm, that is why all the music I listen to is bands that formed in 2005 or earlier, they are more skilled at music than today bands and know what they are talking about.

I don't listen to music that...doesn't really make sense. I only listen to ones that have a right way about life or to teach you something, that can help you through any pain that you've been through. The ones that doesn't make sense I guess it speaks to other people. We all have our own likes of genres of how we listen to our own music, and how we like it. Also how it helps us in a way life or not.

I don't enjoy screamo because I for one don't appreciate listening to people screaming in my ear, it's just utter nonsense to me. No offense.

I also don't enjoy most dubstep music, there are only a select few that I like and that's not many.

Country ? Ehh... yeah I guess since I don't listen to it at all and I think it's boring. 

I don't care for most Country, Screamo, and dubstep music. There are exceptions to the former and latter, but the middle is just plain inexcusable. But I hate almost every popular song out right now. Pop was barely fun when I first got into it. Now it's just kinda painful.

Wow, most people here hate country music with a passion. I don't mind it, but it's not my favorite genre.

   The ones I can't stand are dubstep, most modern rap (I love 90's rap, where they had messages, and you could hear what they were saying, instead of bragging about how many references they can make.), not a fan of any music genre that has 'core' in it.

   Now, the one I hate the most, is by far cumbia. The reason why every song sounds very similar to me, is because they all have the same beat in the background. That beat is called cumbia. And it's in every song, and it drives me insane. I was in my brother's car, waiting for him, and I was listening to his CD's. I put in Kumbia Kings, and noticed that every song had the same exact beat. He told me that was cumbia, and I got so confused. Why did the Kumbia Kings dedicate all their songs to this very simple beat? I've read the history about it (In my confusion), the history is actually very interesting, but the beat drives me crazy. I can't listen to cumbia.

   I also don't like Baby Metal on principle. If you don't know what it is, it's really good metal music, with little Japanese girls doing the vocals. But they aren't singing like metal singers, they're singing like J-pop cutesy stuff about things like chocolate. I don't mind J-pop, or metal, and together, it doesn't sound terrible, but apparently, they have a school dedicated to this. And if the girls get too old, they get replaced. That's the part I don't like. They're just artificially producing this music forcing these girls into making money. I seriously doubt any of them actually like metal, and then they do the metal hand signs, which I imagine drives metal heads into a rage. The weird thing though, is that quite a few metal fans actually like it. The music is actually really good metal music.

   And that is the music I don't enjoy, and a long paragraph as to why I do not enjoy them. I like to rant.

I hate few types of music . One of them is heavy metal and anything metal related. I just hate it.

Any music that involves rap. I just don't like it even though most of my friends do.
