So there's this old guy at my school who rakes the leaves and helps the security guards; he's been there for a really long time.

My friends and I didn't really talk about him or think much of him. He was just some old dude with a limp who never, EVER smiled.

I've always felt sorry for his limp, ever since kindergarten, but I'd always thought of him generally as an unfriendly person since he was always so quiet and his facial expression never even so much as suggested a smile.

Okay, he isn't really old; he's probably in his late fifties or early sixties, but his hair is white.

He always seemed older to me and probably to my friends, too, than he really was because of the limp.

Anyway, today, well, he was walking a talkative preschooler to the kindergarten section, and... this whole thread's "cute" thing I wanted to point out can pretty much only be said in a few words.

I swear to God he had the cutest, friendliest, most genuine smile I have ever seen in my life .

That's all I wanted to say.~ 

Perhaps it'll teach you all about judging people by their covers, ha, ha.

I seriously think that there is someone like that in every elementary/grade school. At my old school back in that day there was a guy like that, he did alot of stuff around the school grounds, but mostly was a crossing guard. When my mom use to take us to school sometimes we would get him hot chocolate on the cold days cause he would be outside for hours and the winters can get pretty nasty.

I actually know this man who owns a grocery store since I was a little girl. I use to be scared of him cause he always looked angry and he glared at me every time I made eye contact with him. Than one day I saw him smile for the first time.

This was around the time I was a teenager, knowing him since I was small it was pretty shocking to see that bright and genuine smile on his face. The person I seen him smiling at was his wife she had visited him while he was working. I was there to buy a snack like I normally do. After seeing him like that I was no longer skeptical about him. When I was a teenager I was no longer scared of him I just thought he was strange and weird.

I guess you really can't judge a book by it's cover huh ?
