I'm nearly one week late, but whatever.

Also, this isn't really about me. If it's in the wrong forum, please put it in the right one. Thanks .

This man was one of the founders of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, he was a politician, he wrote several books, and he was a great person. 

He was very witty and very kind. My grandmother made two chocolate cakes dedicated to him six days ago, on his birthday, January 13th. He was born in 1932 in Jaffa, Palestine and died in 2009 in Lebanon.

He even has his own Wikipedia article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shafiq_al-Hout

I'm really proud.

You know what? It's time to say it! "Jiddo" means "grandfather".

See the "Hader" and "Hanine" and "Syrine" in the article (ctrl+f is beautiful~)? To me, they are "Uncle", "Auntie", and "Mommy" . To Green, they are "Dad", "Auntie" and "Auntie" .

If Jiddo were alive today, he would be 83. :3

Sounds like your grandpa was a pretty awesome guy. I'm glad you got to spend good time with him! I've never gotten to know my grandfathers very well. One is somewhat estranged and the other passed on. I was told, though, that my grandfather who passed on held me in his lap before he died. He was a good man, and I got to hear some of his music! He was pretty famous here in Alabama for a while (he had a "one-hit wonder" called Bugaboo mountain. We have it on record. Maybe I'll record it and share with everybody sometime soon!).
