We all know that we usually kill passive mobs for their drops, right? Sure, punching trees is very useful as well as crafting and killing hostile mobs for their drops, but most passive mobs are the ones that drop food that we need to live! And I wanna know which drop is the most useful in your opinion. 
Also, why is it your favorite drop? Because it looks good? Because it's helped you survived most of your survival worlds? Because it's very common? ...Because it's rare? Be sure to tell me!

In my opinion, I'd say a mix between leather and most of the food items. Why leather? Because it's the easiest way to get armor when you're trying to get hostile mob drops. Why the food items? I shouldn't have to explain, but, because most of them look very tasty, as well as help me not starve.
But enough about my opinion! What about yours?

I voted for wool, because you usually get mutton and the wool when killing sheep. I love the usefulness of the sheep, you can craft a bed, and several other items, and once you have the bed, you don't need to worry about hostile mobs, unless you go into a mine... But not if you put torches there... I would also go with Leather, which can be used to make books, which help with Enchanting... It's really a tie between the two for me.

Back in the early days I played Minecraft, the biggest mob drop I like was the beef/steak, the reason why I think so, if you're going out mining and you have it on Normal or harder, and you're low on hunger or health, you can eat a cook steak and gain 4 full hunger points, and that will help you out a whole lot.
