The title basically says it all, I need a suggestion of which starter to use for a nuzlocke, which is the hardest to die and who is a good sweeper etc.

I would personaly go with Torchic for this one, never go with the grass starter if you are doing a Nuzlocke.

ALso, moving this to Discussion.

I would say to choose Mudkip. He eventually evolves into Marshtomp, which gives him the Ground type, so that he is now immune to elctric type attacks, taking away one of his weaknesses. However, he is very vulnerable to Grass types, so be careful.

I agree with Lunar, that is the pokemon that has yet to fail me with good defense and offense along with the type advantage as well. My nuzlocke Mudkip (Marshstomp now of course),if I remember correctly, was at lvl 68 with Muddy Water, Surf, Endeavor, and Earthquake when I got through the Elite 4, alongside with my lvl 51 Gardevior, lvl 62Kecleon, lvl 78 Metagross,  lvl 54 Altaria, and I forgot the lvl of Rayquaza. I honestly didn't even use Rayquaza in the elite 4 and champ battle My opinion from best choice to "you shouldn't pick this one" is: Mudkip, Torchic, then Trecko. Hope it helps.

I'd say, pick the one you like the most. The one who gives you the feeling that you can win the Nuzlocke. I do recommend Mudkip of them all the most.

But you also can use the Random ID number thing. This means your trainer card ''decides'' which Pokémon you use. If the last number of your ID is 1, 2 or 3 you start with Treecko. 4, 5, 6 = Torchic and 7, 8, 9 = Mudkip. What about 0? Then you decide.

I used this for my own Sapphire Nuzlocke. And so I started with Treecko. Yeah, probably the most difficult but the Treecko (now Sceptile) is still alive! (I'm about the face the 7th gym). Believe it or not but Treecko worked out really well for me so far. Just avoid trainers who have Pokémon with high attack stat, Sceptile's defense is not that high.

If I were to pick a starter, I would say Mudkip is the best choice. Gaining the ground type when evolving means he'll only have grass weakness. He also has high HP, and a very high defense, making him good to stay around the battle for a long time. But personally, I prefer having my Nuzlocke starter being a random choice.
