The CP system has only been around for about 2 years but we did have something called 'Staff Points' which was exclusive to staff members before that. I think the 'Staff Points' feature was around 1-2 years before the Contribution Point system came out. Basically the Staff Points feature merged into the Contribution Point system. Even the points were merged to the new system (that's what the 'Historic Staff Points' means on the Contribution Points page). The old staff Point system didn't have nearly as many ways for staff members to earn points compared to the Contribution Point system.

But yeah, after on how this month played out by nearly getting 10,000 CPs in a single month, I am closely approaching 25,000 CPs myself which I should get sometime in February because after this month is over, I am still going to post reviews and all.
