"Would you rather
1. jump out of an airplane without a parachute
or
2. sit next to someone you’ve never met before at a dinner party?"

According to the book, How to Talk to Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere: The Secrets of Good Communication by Larry King, most people would rather jump out of an airplane without a parachute. He actually states in the book: “If your answer is 1, don’t feel bad. You’ve got a lot of company.” That is how much people tend to fear communication with strangers, to the extent that even colleges ended up offering courses such as Public Speaking and many professional fields now require some sort of Communications or Public Speaking course as part of their prerequisites.

Personally, I love writing and most every aspect associated with writing but I sort of dislike the actual speaking part. I don’t mind writing speeches and papers and presenting said compositions to a small group or team but speaking publicly before an audience of 200+ has always been a rather daunting challenge for me, especially if the speech is supposed to be short. I guess this means I’m part of the majority of the people that would rather jump out of a plane without a parachute…? j/k(?) XD

Thus, although I don’t tend to have any specific subjects that I absolutely dislike, whenever we are required to present something or speak publicly before a great number of people for any class, be it theater/drama, art, English (oral presentations), etc., I am usually not the first to sign up to present (it does help to have some more time to practice, too). Over the years, I’ve become more accustomed to presenting before larger audiences but I know there’s still a lot of room for improvement if I’m still often feeling awkward at weddings and funerals.

There is, however, another subject that I find challenging and don’t particularly like (yet?) and that is Calculus. However, it’s not so much that I dislike all the topics in math as I probably just haven’t met a good instructor that could explain the concepts clearly enough to me. As a child, I loved algebra and geometry was fun, too (I had great instructors for those classes), and it wasn’t difficult to score at the top of the national exams. Then, Precalculus came along and my entire class unanimously swore the teacher was secretly an axe murderer my instructor always became frustrated whenever my class couldn’t understand what she was teaching. She would always be smiling, but we could tell that beneath her canned smile was something else completely (it seemed that she was actually furious and simmering with the most frightening aura of darkness DX ), probably wondering why all of us were confused no matter what she said. Those of us that dared to approach her eventually stopped trying after she took out her anger on us one day and we started to teach ourselves even more. As students, it was deflating to have a teacher that was obviously brilliant at math and even better at Precalculus but that couldn’t explain the concepts at well well to her students. In hindsight, she was probably not suitable for the field of education and to this day, I still feel like my knowledge and understanding of Precalculus might have lots of T_T some holes in it, which is probably why Calculus became difficult later on, too. Someday, I hope to be able to completely understand the areas of math that I didn’t master very well and maybe I’ll finally be able to enjoy those subjects, too.

Sadly enough it was Science. I felt that in public schools in FL did not really have much hands on when it came to Science and rather it was mostly book work and nothing else. I think it defeated the purpose of Science itself and how much in depth it can go. I like Science but, my experience with how it was taught made it least enjoyable.

I have a certain hatred for art and careers.

I used to be on good terms with the world of art until I went to middle school and met the most unpleasant teacher I've ever known. He was brusque with marking, and he didn't care about our concerns. But he legally couldn't fail us, so that was good news. Still, three years.

Some schools may or may not have careers so I'll explain it to you. You spend the whole day at your desk and do nothing. It's interesting, as it's the only course I've ever taken that makes me depressed just thinking about it. Just two more months and it will be over...

My least favorite subject is Biology.
That is TECHNICALLY a lie, because I love biology. The only problem is... it's my weakest subject. If I were just a little better when it came to this study, my least favorite subject would probably be Spanish. I have nothing against the language, I just don't find it as appealing as my other subjects. Still, it's not bad, by any means.
Sorry Biology, you're getting the bad hand.

Science was by far my subject. I have always been fascinated by how things work and grow. My favorite part of science was studying the weather. I have always had an interest in tornadoes.

Biology it does nothing help. I can't for the life of me understand what we are doing...
... if only there was video game education then I would throw the teacher out of the room and take over the lesson

Back when I was in grade school, English was the WORST. Honestly, up until 5th grade, I was okay with reading and writing, and I was pretty good at it. Then, 6th grade on, English teachers overdid writing and really made it suck. We wrote all the time about everything, and it had to 'x' sentences long and 'x' pages long, or we'd get marked off.

It was the only subject up until I graduated I felt a hate for.

Y4123 : About art yeah I know what you mean I would prefer to actually learn art itself and the fact it means creation rather than 'copy this out' we have learned barely nothing about art in our school. I want to do computerised art and do pictures of video game characters etc.

I absolutely despise French, not because it's hard to do, no, it is because of my classmates, they are so bad that I have became depressed from being in that class for only 2 months, luckily only have to get one credit then I am done. Same goes with geography, same exact situation, just not as bad.

My teachers have sucked throughout the years, only 1 being any good.

And also, they say its going to be just like english, but sadly, its not.

Right now it's math, I can barely do it anymore because this is the first time that I had a math class in like 5 days so even though it's Algebra, I don't remember any of it and variables SUCK.

My least favorite subject was always English. If they had let us choose our own books to read, even from a list, that would've made a world of difference. My entire life in English class was basically being told what to read or what to write about, which made it extremely hard to actually be interested in any of it. The only two books from school I ever really liked were Watership Down, and Flowers for Algernon. But yeah I hated the way English was taught at my school.

I'm a beast at math and science, so I would just sleep through those classes and still set the curve for the tests. (I was taking Calculus as a sophomore, and it was still boring)

I always hated going to English. It was boring, the books we read sucked, and we had to right pointless essays! I hate writing for the most part by the way!

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
