We enter the wonderful fungus filled land once more...this time however, with a more...distressing issue at hand. Toad and Toads galore, filled to the brim and inflated like a jet-puffed marshmallow. The Red and Green staches are called into this conference with hopes upon thinking of a cure for this rare and mysterious problem but suddenly the conference had to be put on hold for another "business meeting" and after having solved that conflict they return to strategizing only to after some time be blown far off course and having everyone rendered unconscious. Upon waking up on the bad end of the shoulder (and that's no joke or laughing matter) you continue your way through this strange land only to find out it has to be a living body....yes you were sucked inside a living body. Like our brothers said...no joke here; but, the only question left is...whom are we inside *Hears typical growl and anger in voice* ...y-y-you've gotta be kidding me...we're inside this beast?! Is there anyway out?! Do we just have to lead and help this tyrant around?! Who knows *ruffles mustache* guess it's time to start our...journey? All I know is I SERIOUSLY hope no viewers or this person gets indigestion while we travel...please....I beg of you..I just curled my mustache :'(

I'm sure from the intro you're all dying to know what could've happened and what the graphics would possibly look like deemed upon details and the title of the game: "Inside Story". Let's just say for the time being like above, that you've been sucked into someone's body so naturally you would expect the details for most of the "inside" game portion to look like guts or muscles you would expect in a human or animal sense. Since there are 2 varied types of gameplay I'll cover a little of both and one tiny difference between one of the options so let's not waste time and not only continue to wet your appetite but ruin your 'stomach' as well!

With this title I'm sure you're probably thinking since it's a nerve that you'll be in this characters arm or legs right? Nerves usually attract people to arms or legs even backs correct? Sadly that isn't the correct choice here as the place you'll be in is: "the belly" or to be more correct for us "the stomach". Told you I wasn't lying, this area is what you would come to expect from a flesh/body driven game and to be honest it reminds me of the area outside of Gigyas's room from Earthbound, with the pipes that pulsate and are figured as organs/entrails when taking a deeper look into the game. Thankfully for lightweights there isn't any blood that will come from any area in this game so if the title worried you just lay 'back' and relax from your worries; however, it is quite detailed yet..to me I actually like the idea of this area as you meet a certain spot where a pesticide decides to jump our tyrants bones causing his sickness as such you'll hear our monster cry in agony for the pain to end. Definitely and interesting spot but now for the encore duet "Toad Square"!

After waking up for the miserable mess you've been thrown into, you'll awaken still covered my gums and muscles everywhere expect that during the sudden vacuum cleansing a large portion of the wonderful Mushroom Kingdom was throwing inside the body of the beast and as such you'll find service areas giving out drinks/armor/and even just weapon equipment. Sure sounds appealing but I wouldn't trust the drink stall, I'm not sure if that's orange nectar or some kind of bile and unlike the bro's I don't advise you to take a chance at it...either way I'm sure you can get and idea of what the area looks like as it's the same as before just crowed like a supermarket now so instead of your shoes and suits you've got your bones and stews. A nice idea and it appears to have worked out nicely in my eyes, now onto the grand finale of this belly..erm.. section.

      |_ ~~~~ Bowser Gargantuan~~~~_|

A new method and playing style comes forth in the Mario and Luigi series, this time our fire breathing man in a shell is able to grow to an astronomically high height (when he's in danger, or would normally die alone) after having consoled him at the "Rump Command" area he'll grow to Giga Bowser type heights and as such you'll use a new playing style by holding your fungus...ummm....Nintendo DS screen in a vertical manner and this is mostly where the stylus create a big moment of play time inside the game besides later SP attacks (or ones that you get for Bowser). Though this mode is kind of different I do enjoy  the shift in gameplay a tiny bit with how the health is now counting down by a bar of health the equivalent of Street Fighter or Streets of Rage while keeping the same RPG element of Mario and Luigi. Don't get too 'over' confident in this fact since you're opponent apparently drank all the shroom'nog this season and grew exponentially as well (talk about a bot-growth-spurt). These portions of the games don't look quite as great as the original mode since there is no real environment for you to look at because of the situation you're in at the moment, either way it has a great gameplay but focusing mainly on Bowser and the fight the graphics stand out well when players receive damage so nice job here.

      .I: _:.Dimble Woods.:_ :I.

Bringing us to the final part of the graphics stage is the main overworld which though isn't quite as pretty in my opinion does still hold interest and quite a few giggles from the player through-out their adventure. For most of the overworld you'll be using Bowser more often than not, and to be honest with you viewers it honestly just looks like Super Star Saga; though just upgraded a tiny bit in appearance. The background textures don't really move around much and even if it is colorful and bright it doesn't look as appealing as other parts of this game so I wouldn't blame you if this part turns you off a tiny bit but I'm pretty sure you can still 'stomach' your way through it!

That brings me to the conclusion of this section, so with all of that accomplished my score in terms of graphics would have to be an 8 out of 10! Since it has a lot of good points going but then kind of drops.

      {Amazing music with no worries of irritating your bowels}

If the graphics didn't pull you in *throws goomba at viewer* HEY! come back here!! I was going to say then this games catalog of music should be able to pull you towards it happily, by the "insides" *see's view walk away again* ( C'MERE *breathes fire on behind and drags back*. This games music is very extensive so for the length and interest value I'll bring out 3 songs I feel are the best to gain your attention towards the game so how about we go now!..... *see's user unconscious with candlelit behind* ....ugh....j-just let's move on...

~~_/_ Beachside Dream (inside bowswer) _/_~~
    -------                                                        ------

Probably one of the earliest songs you'll hear in this game when you actually start to begin your long quest with Bowser and friends and as funny as it may seem this song at times seems both mysterious and tropical when listening and adventuring around. For instance it would be like combining the original underground theme from Super Mario Bros and then adding in Pinna Park/Gelato Beach from Super Mario Sunshine and letting them get digested inside our beast of a monster Bowser until they started to meld together into this masterpiece. The mix of mystery that you love in adventure with a mid like tropical tone to put you at ease or even pump you up for what could lay ahead just feels so great to listen to at times and I love it dearly! Great sond and I highly suggest "checking" it out

  <><> In The Final <><>
  *----*----*---*-*--**-*-*-*---*

Normally people don't expect much from Mario games on Final Battle themes with only a few good examples in my mind; (Paper Mario TTYD, SM64, SMW) however; just like those games mentioned I believe this is another one of those cases where the final battle them just fits perfectly and is just perfect for what you've been through on your long and perilous journey! Sitting ahead of you is a monster creating be the destruction of one being and it's time to bring it to and end with a big old boswer punch and mario swing! If you ever want a song that gives you power and strength in your abilities then bash this open and press play.

          <~~~ Bowser's Theme ~~~>>>

We all know the king of the shells I-I mean Koopa's and how dangerous he is to the peaceful land of the Mushroom Kingdom, almost as if you can hear his footsteps from thousands of steps away. His cackle and laugh with overconfidence of beating the Mario Bros, and kidnapping the princess or whatever he wishes; although, the strangest thing about this theme is that it seems a lot darker than how it normally sounds almost as if he's already done something to damage his foe before they even get to  notice them. Really creepy yet interesting when you first hear it as if you're like....is this really bowser or a demented version of him?! Great job here too Nintencap!

Adding everything up I'd say the music would average out at an even 9 out of 10 since you may not like every song but the ones that you do love, they'll stick with you forever!

^v^<--> Playing with a body was never as much fun before >--
I will admit the first time I saw this game inside the story I never figured it could be worth the money and pay off with as much fun as promised on the box (knowing how I felt playing most other RPG's) but I figured since Paper Mario gave me such a nice time I'd try this series out from this game and give it a try....only one word from me... keep this shroom addiction away from me if you want me to have a life still. Sadly I haven't played this game since around the time of its release (DS was broken by  someone) but I'll do my best to describe what I remember from actually having played the game *jumps into battle*.

         < |O>

As stated above once before this is the third game in lines of the Mario and Luigi franchise and the second+final one released for the DS so if you've played Partners in Time or Superstar Saga then you'll feel right at home with this games attack and adventuring scenarios. Let's start off with the adventure system wherein you travel around  certain landscapes whether it's the seaside paradise of Plack beach or the dark depth of Bowser's Castle later on and search for items or people that you may need to talk to in order to gain information that will cure the blob affect on the toads or just help Bowser with any problems he may have during this adventure/quest. During this mode you can also find special power-up or secret items that you can find to help upgrade shops or earn special equipment, the equivalent of finding broggies with Bowser so that way you can earn a special SP attack. Which bring us into the next part for this segment...
The battling portion which as I've said many times is really the same as the previous entries in the series; however, this does have some noticable changes with the first and foremost being the addition of stlyus commands which even though most of them are "required" for every SP move on bowser, it's optional for the bros on mostly all occassions but there are times where you'll have to use a stylus for the so don't get too comfy with those ABYX button Mr. Mushead. Anyway for some attacks you may need to tap the screen or even certain objects as fast as you can in order to land successful attacks, and if that's not the way then you most likely have to slide it across the screen in some fashion (don't worry you don't have to be FA-BU-LOUUS, to have it work). Another addition is the Mic which we all know by now with their systems, I think in only one point of the game it's really used and I could be wrong...but when you're huge as bowser and you wish to breathe fire at your huge towering opponent you will have to blow into the microphone. It may seem tiring and hard at first but just breath in a lot of air when choosing the attack and SLOWLY releasing it in good timing so it will last longer and ultimately cause more damage.

Between sucking in enemies and gaining health for bowser, to sucking them in and pummeling the foes with the bros smashing them all over their insides...(ok I really need to stop talking about this game like that) you'll hae a great and bashing time during this adventure so if you want something new and unique this game would be glorius for you! The addictiveness deserves a 10 out of 10 for great thinking and the company using their creative....brains.

_|An old semi-villan returning more dasterdly than before! |_

Keeping up my hardest moustache to try and not spoil too much of the story until I got onto this section was tough; (even still I won't spoil everything) although, now it's time to begin opening up more about this story's adventure and pleasing atmosphere which all begins in the Mushroom Kingdom as expected let's begin!

Mario and Luigi, the two most famous and wonderful plumbers out there in this world and heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom for ages. Though the didn't get the typical happy reunion they'd expected from being asked by the Princess of the land: "Peach" to come over and devise a plan with her and the main watch over for Peach the brown and old toadstool some love: Toadsworth. With a strange phenomena going around wherein a lot of the cities residence are all puffed up from an infection/sickness and no one can seem to figured out what caused it or how to reverse it, and just when things couldn't get anymore hectic the King of Slaughter and temper-tantrums decides to come in and declare a fight between the bros for being sick and tired of tasting defeat almost every single time. After being flown to the moon and back of defeat and turmoil once more our firebreathing pet lays beaten and out of luck. During a strange encounter with a man in a coat (yes we all know never trust an old man in a coat *looks at zelda*) Bowser decided to eat the meal given to him which in turns sucks mostly all of the land in the Mushroom Kingdom inside him....including our Red and Green hero's we love so much...not sure if that's the kind of defeat our villian wanted but ok? It turns out our henious criminal is actual Fawful from Superstar Saga and has returned to give this land payback for how they'd humiliated him before and therefor causing Bowser to be a sitting duck and the Mario Bros to have disappeared from this world...or at least in a helping kind of manner.
Having trashed the minion with his weakened state they leave the pitiful monster alone and Fawful and co-hort decide to journey out for their main conquest they'd planned out. Mario and Luigi soon wake up inside bowser's "trash pit" area alive and well though unknowing where they could even be until they hear the roar of an angry Bowser having woken up later on by their own efforts. Along the way the heroic plumbers meet a star friend named Starlow (or as bowser calls him "Chippy") and they find out that the only way to get through this and find the possible cure is to help bowser on his conquest for revenge though feigning ignorance and telling him the cure for the toads is what can help defeat the villans that pummled him. Almost looking as hot as an Easy-Toadstool-Oven Bowser rushes off and follows Chippy's directions and our monster begins his quest!

Quite a different outline from anything we've seen so far in the Mario universe but I can say as weird as it first sounded I love the idea of it now since not many games use this kind of style on the (human/inside body) exploration tactic. Trust me it may not sound as fun on paper...erm...vizzed outline? Once you actually begin this journey though that's where it picks you up from your feet and makes you intrigued. So I'd say the story earns the well raised 9 out of 10!

       |++_ Just as large and adventerous giving as the posters showed in biology_++|

This game is huge and I mean HUGE especially considering what handheld this is on, already the idea of being able to not only venture around with bowser as a playable character (hadn't really happened since Super Mario RPG/Super Paper Mario) so it's nice to finally see that again after a while, but the idea that you play around inside Bowser while you venture around with him just turns this bar up to the max and creates a whole new level of amazing ideas and LOTS of creativity. So yeah that's cool and all but I guess that means with more features there probably won't be as much to do in the game maybe 7 levels between each side you switch between? Sadly you are far mistaken from that calculation, in fact if you add it up it goes like this: "For Bowser there are 14 areas that you'll venture around through the entirity of this RPG and that's already a big number for a Mario series; (possibly tied with Super Paper Mario) however, if that wasn't enough for your 'heart' to take in there are in fact 20 "inside" places that you can venture through with Mario and Luigi....that's right...TWENTY.  Amazing Amazing AMAZING!! You pay $20 or something for this game and I can tell you it's WORTH the money and the amount that you get from this game is just "shell-shocking". With that major tidal wave that just crashed in and soaked our caps blue, I think now we can get into some more minute things about the game that have been included  to advance the gameplay by a lot or a tiny bit.

(Battle) ~ In the addictiveness section I talked about how the battle system was an how it was similar; but, this time we can give more little details about the fighting that makes it just plain fun and very enlistful in terms of choices. For example the SP point which are a classic addition to any RPG (Mana for Final Fantasy, Flower points for Paper Mario, PP for Earthbound) There are several different SP attack for each character and in many occassions there is at least one really good attack for different enemies which is great so even if it's an attack you don't prefer you still know it's going to do some good damage (yay no worthless upgrades). Each of the bro's and Bowser has at at least 5 different SP attacks which in turn will be very helpful for passing through the game, to be more specific: "Mario and Luigi = 10 total and Bowser = 6 total SP moves to unlock" From eating donuts and turning into a sumo Luigi in order to give a massive hernia to your foe to even using a horde of bomb's to blow the smug look of your foe's face, you'll certainly enjoy trying out and experincing each move you find out and seeing which one works best for you!

(Upgrades) ~ On terms of things that you can upgrade and unlock in this game one of the main things that people rush for is the badges that they included in this specific Mario and Luigi game, basically put there are shops in which when you buy gear they can also give you badges with a meter that will fill up enabling you to do a special technique or get a better advantage like doing 2X more damge and depening on if you have a rating badge "good or excellent" it could increase the damage badges special to 4X or heal a player by a higher percent.
The second important upgrade to the one above is the "ranking" system for your characters in which each time you level up your rank goes up by a one or more levels each time and after a certain amount you rise up in ranking and are yielded with prizes/upgrades such as more gear that you're able to equip, having the ability to shop at higher ranked stores, or gaining rare badges by reaching a high or the highest peak. As such the leveling up alongside badges really offers a lot of managing and different playability for each different consumer whom bought this game. A game with fair upgrades and ranking system which earns a nice thumbs up from our hands to our staches.

From everything above and most likely below after this section you can see this game is very detailed with lots of rich things to explore and execute in one or even two playthroughs if you love the game so much, with everything listed above I can't help but think that this game deserves any less than a 10 out of 10!

O-----<~> Tossing and throwing the bro's around, in twisted mazes and difficulties >~< ----O

Right away the game may seem very easy at first but if you start turning naive against the enemies it will be a horrible backfire on your part in the end (unless you're one of those people that grinds endless...then....well....just shame on you for making this section mute). Either way this game I thought was average level of difficulty at first so I never worried too much when it came to bosses and that I just figured if I lost once it was just a test to understand their skills, in which though that is true in some aspects later on even learning what they could do I would still get butt slammed especially when it came near the end of the game or at leave past the half-way point. Some examples of bosses that had given me a hard time when I first tried to defeat this game were:

Junker: - A trash can type enemy which can throw normal enemies at you (chain chomps, bomb-omb) which is difficult to avoid the first time and the second damaging thing is that he can incapacitate one of your bro's and you will only be able to fight with Luigi or Mario until Junker is willing to release him and if you die here it's  game over, you don't get to try with the other bro that's trapped.

Blizzard Midbus: Basically a heavily upgraded version of Bowser's first new rival in this game (the one whom incapacitated him at the beginning). Which causes him to gain several Ice/Winter related abilities such as snowballs and Ice blocks that can very easily give Bowser the "sick" status effect while causing minor damage to him as well, combined with the fact that he has more HP than any boss in the game (he's not even the final one). Usually there are ways to counter a lot of his attacks but the caviot is that they usually require good reflexes.  So be very careful, spend your HP wisely and do whatever you can for a balance between power and defenese in this fight.

This brings us to the end of this difficulty section, with some rough patches here and there you can see this game is no joke but it's not the hardest game you'll ever play by a long shot either, good job on managing and if you explore you will be rewarded (possibly) on how difficult things might be when it comes to facing them. Great job as such a 7 out of 10 seems to be fair here.

Reaching the dark storm above this story's castle you meet with the horror Fawful fear and destruction put all together, our fire breathing destructor reaches the top to to deal with the monster creating this danger! Giggling and growling at the monster's feeble attempt at pinning our...Hero?...Anti-Hero? Heronti? Whatever you wish to call Bowser, this attempt doesnt work in the end and if that was possibly enough to stop him then he's the most naive villian of all! I'm not called the King of Koopa's for no dang shell of a reason, if that's what you think then we'll have to show him true fear and punishment and once we're all done with him WE"LL TAKE THE LAND GWAHAHAHA Prepare for true PUNISHMENT! *breathes fire at final boss* SHOWTIIIMME!!!

*Vizzed symbol fly and grows towards screen*

              _________________________________________

*Vizzed symbol fly and grows towards screen*

sonicthehedgehog57 : I was just getting ready to go to sleep when I noticed that you made a new review so I decided I would go ahead and read it. Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story is one of my favorite Mario games of all time so I had high expectations for this review and you delivered what is in my opinion one of the best reviews I've ever seen! How long did it take you to finish this incredible review? It had to have taken a really long time. There's no way I'd have the patience to make a review this long. Heck I don't even know if I'll be able to ever make a 2,000 word review. I don't know how you do it.

sonicthehedgehog57 : You know, I bet you wanted to post this before TdV (unless you wanted to, if you did, you could of waited a couple more minutes, but oh well). But other than the whole TdV mumbo Jumbo, I have to say, you really did a really great guide Sonic. My Mother do happen to have a copy of Mario & Luigi. Bowser's Inside Story, but for some reason, I never really had the chance to play it. Maybe I wasn't too interested in it.

IgorBird122 : On the contrary I actually dislike the TDV quite a bit and don't even care for winning any jersey's or points. I care more so about giving readers something nice to enjoy without trying to reach only for points or money...I know my word count may suggest otherwise; but, I honestly don't know if my reviews will only be 2500 or longer but I just feel like I put in what I think is right then move on.

Glad you enjoy the review, and I used to have a copy but my DS was broke so I gave it away to a friend whom had a DS. I've never played any of the previous Mario and Luigi games and only the demo version of Dream Team but I did love this one. Thanks for the reply and hope this didn't make any wrong turns for anyone.

gameforlifeforever2: Really glad you enjoyed it my friend, sorry caught you at the crack end of sleep but I was up for 23 hours working on this just so I could submit it for the last day of 2014. Glad it payed off for you because my viewers mean the most to me, I could care less about the fame, it's about your guy's enjoyment. Thanks for the reply and the compliments but honestly I have no idea how I do it myself, I just think about the game and what you're asked to do in reviewing and just go from there. My mother always said I could do things that were a lot higher than my age level (gave myself homework as a child cause I wanted to grow). Maybe you won't but hey *pats back* it's not the size that matters buddy, it's the quality of reviews that do! I'm sure you'll grow and be at a level similar to this in no time soon.

sonicthehedgehog57 : Yeah, I do still have a chance to play it though because I do have a 3DS and thank goodness that the 3DS is backwards with Original DS games, so maybe someday, I'll play this game on the 3DS. Also, personally, you wouldn't be a review writer for nothing, you do make a lot of outstanding reviews and that is coming from a Game Review mod.

sonicthehedgehog57 : Great job on this review! I also have this game, and it's my favorite Mario game at all time :3!! I agree with you on everything you've said on the review. Such as Nintendo put lots of creativity, hard bosses (Junker is the most annoying in my opinion.). Also. the 'In the Final', it's the best theme in video game history, ever.  Anyway, I really enjoyed reading this review of yours !

sonicthehedgehog57 : Great review my friend!
I've played this game and the other Mario & Luigi games as well and it's my favourite, just like with most people. Superstar Saga was a great game but the difficulty curve was weird (tons of easy bosses but hard monsters in the late game, and the final boss was insanely good, and Joke's End is awfully hard) and Partners in Time had a very unique gameplay thanks to the babies (although I didn't like battle items, and the concept of timetraveling wasn't used very well in my opinion) but Bowser's Inside Story kind of combined the two games and added great new things like the Gauntlet and the Cholesteroad and it also had a really cool gameplay, combining 2D stages in Bowser with a 3D overworld, just like Dream Team does with Luigi his dreams.

I really love the Beachdream music inside Bowser as well! It's one of the few themes that sound as good or even better than the outside world theme. It also really mixes well with the idea of swimming around (in Bowser his body though, yuck ).

I think the only things that I have to say about your review besides that it's really good, are that I would've mentioned the Gauntlet and the Cholesteroad, and it's not necessary but I would have explained why Bowser calls Starlow Chippy.

Anyways, keep up the good work, your reviews are amazing

juuldude : Glad you enjoyed it,  yeah there were just so many things about this game that made it unique alongside the other two (mostly for the whole inside his body concept). I haven't played or watched Dream Team since I've only played the demo but it seems to at least live up in my opinion to this game so I might check that out sometime.

And I actually completely forgot about that X'D it's been 3 years since my DS broke so my mind kind of went fuzzy on the game but I tried my best. Again glad you enjoyed it and I'm looking to giving you more for your time in 2015 (specifically that there will be 3 review this month)
