TheOmegaDragon : Not really but can be called indirectly, one theory of why Shadow looks like Sonic is because Gerlead Robotnik based Shadow of the painting in Hidden place zone (in Sonic and knuckles) and the reason why Shadow has the upward hair is because Gerlead based Shadow of Super Sonic which was in the painting (spelling of Gerlead was optional)

glitchy1 : Such an easy question, I can name 2 - 3, but I will only name 2 because I don't quite know how to spell the 3rd zone without Google, why can't I list hidden place though, too famous ?
1. Dust Hill Zone 2. Wood Zone (or something like that) I did play a Sonic 2 hack based on the beta before (and beaten it). NotJon : Not counting fan creations, non living hedgehogs (metal Sonic) and characters out of the game series (Archie Comics, etc.) : Sonic (obviously  ), Shadow ( ), Amy ( ), Sliver (:O), there are a total of 4 hedgehogs (a lot of people seem to forget Amy, not know she is a hedgehog).
I shouldn't have missed one, as I can think of all Sonic characters like knowing my ABCs. 1. Dust Hill Zone 2. I don't know...but I am guessing it is because of how Sonic was made to fight Mario, and the war between red is always blue. Also, Blu represents speed .

Maybe Sega forgot or he was just not as popular. It also cost more to make games then before (when tails had spinoffs), so making a simple spinoff may require a big sum, making it not worth it.
