Honestly, if these are all pokemon in a single game, I like using name themes.

Or I name mine after an inside joke, so you always giggle on the inside when you send it out. For example, I name all my normal/flying standard birds Kudo, after the old grumpy dude in Ace Attorney 3 who hates pigeons. I like his character, and I always see his face in my head when I send the pokemon out.

Nicknames are only good if you come up with them, rather than to take some from other people. Try to find a theme or something you think of when you see the pokemon and use that.

I usually don't give my Pokemon nicknames. I can't figure who is what latter on when I have to change them out in the boxes. I suggest you do the same, unless you are used to giving your Pokemon nicknames.
