One of the best PC games ever? Are you f***ing joking? Myst is probably one of the most overrated PC games ever made. It's just a goshdarn slideshow with impressive graphics. Maybe it's just the fact that it gets ported up the ass for every goshdarn console and the fact that there's nothing to do after you finish the game. Why does it need remembrance when it's just a goshdarn interactive slideshow.

Myst is not an RPG, it's a visual adventure game. And I could care less if it was the first. It's like saying how Top Gun should be good because it was the first console flight sim.

I would say Myst is ok considering when it came out and everything.
I just couldn't get a copy that easily back then. T_T

Also xfighter tone down the swearing a bit or David will have a go at you. He wants this to be a family friendly site.

I've only played one Myst game(can't remember which one). I enjoyed the one I did play though. I don't really want to play another Myst game but it did keep me busy for a bit.

I've really enjoyed the Myst games that I've played. They may not be the most action-packed games out there, but they have really nuanced stories, and the puzzles will keep you playing for hours. Plus, the characters were really well done, and I always found myself caring about what happened to the characters. I enjoy how the stories are not just told to you through things like cutscenes, but you can also read the back stories through the journals lying around in the games. Finally, the games have one more element that makes them cool: you always start the games with little to no information about ANYTHING. This makes the entire game a grand discovery, and adds another element of mystery to the legend of Myst.

Its hard to say why exactly most people dont appreciate Myst® but ill tell you this, it is a very interesting and nail biting game. It has the characteristics of some Da Vinci work as well as Edison. What a well planned game IMO. Alot of work went into creating this series. Kudos

I think it's a good game. Really interesting your first time through... but once you know it, you can beat it in under 5 minutes.

Maybe it was the time limit I had playing it because I was only visiting my dad's house for a couple hours, or that it was a pretty complicated game for my age since I was pretty young at the time. I don't exactly remember a lot but I can see how it is popular as being the first of many derivatives to come. But as with all pioneers...They don't really get recognized as much as the next guy.

At first youll get disgruntled because most people that still play have been playing for years and the movements and reaction time are like second nature. Just set some time aside one day and go at it, once you start getting a positive kill/death ratio youll actually notice yourself enjoying it more.

The entire game from frame one encourages people to see the game differently than they see reality. If any game is art, Myst is a masterpiece.

That was really where Myst was so innovative. The graphics are incredible (for that time) and you can get totally sucked into the realistic landscapes through the composition of the views and the music and sound effects combined with the imagery to make it a very immersive game.
