Well Aus is known to have unusual sayings or people using slang.
So I wanted to know if you guys in other contries have any sayings or slang that you use or have heard used and the meaning of these.

Here is a couple I use:

Dropping the kids off at the pool - Going to the toilet to do a poop
Bumnut - An egg

Onion peel- like : it means emotionally sensitive

I like that one Juliet.

I just realised how often i use slang that I had forgotten its slang
So heres a few more:
Arvo - Afternoon
Ankle Biter - Small Child
Dish Licker - Dog
Daks - Pants/Trousers
Dunny - A toilet outside the house
Crack a tinny - Have a beer (the can variety)
A Doco - A Documentery
Ear bashing - To nag
Bible Basher/God Botherer - A religous person
The Land Down Under/The Lucky Country - Australia

Another one I use can't be put on here as its an adult thing

screehodged.... means messed up, broken, etc.

It's a VERY local word. As in people in my family use it and not many others that I know of.

I'll come up with more but that's one that I was pretty sure would be unique.

My mother used to say this to me, 'Don't pick your nose or it will fall off.'

In the area around Boston, everyone uses the word "wicked" as an adjective to mean very, extremely, a lot, etc.
One of my favorite things to say is actually from the show FRIENDS. Crapweasel!

scrilla: money
nuke: to heat up in the microwave
hit the hay: go to sleep
nark: a snitch
antifreeze: liquor
rug: wig
chintzy: low quality/small amount
dank: uh.. has something to do with my name
kryptonite: also has something to do with my name..

there is many, many more, but its a bit harder to think of them when you're actually trying to think of them

I've encountered someone who used the term "loafing." It essentially means "goofing off." ...I think.

In my town "loafer" is used to describe a lazy person, who just sops around all day...

It makes perfect sense. But if you're in a bakery, how could you work and loaf at the same time?

Jimmy - a part of the male anatomy that hopefully grows 10 times the size or more when a man sees more than he should on a human female.
Dead-Presidents - money (because in the States it has pictures of past Presidents on it).
Hookie - skipping class.
Grandpa's Cough Medicine - beer.

heres some southern slang
Flappin your gator - talking too much, or too loud
bulldagger - a manly lesbian
hogswallop - means nonsense ('oh hogswallop' and 'thats nonsense' mean the same thing)
bowed up - means that your drawing yourself up to seem bigger to try and intimidate someone.
lazy man's load - it technically means someone who takes on an unmanageably large load to avoid making multiple trips while carrying something, it is also used to describe someone who cant think properly.
nearabout - almost
piddlin around - to waste time, or mess around
that dog wont hunt - that idea wont work

i got all these from my mom's boyfriend xD he has a thick accent too lol.

kvetching- whining or complaining
chatchka [not sure if that's how it's spelt]- a little object of no real worth
cancer stick- cigarette
tags- license plates
Mr./Mrs. Gotrocks- someone flaunting their money
25-yarder- someone that looks good at a distance, then, as they get closer, you realize they aren't so good looking
Fabulous- gay man
scutch- someone that is annoying or bothering

Missus - MRS, refering to someones partner (not necesarily married)
Thunderbox - toilet
She'll be right - everything will be ok
Bushpig - really unnatractive woman

Ariel pingpong - Australian Football (AFL)
Sheep Shagger - A New Zealander


All I can think of right now.

Here's a few that come to mind:

- Water Closet = Toilet
- Yuppie = Rich Folks
- Prep = Rick Folks
- Yankee = American
- Cracker / Craka / White Trash = White Person (Many more racial terms but I'll use white one so I can get away with it lol)
- Playa or Player = A person who only thinks for themselves, think they are the best in world and often quoted on people because they can hook up with chicks easy.
- CIA = USA's version of terrorism.

I've heard a lot of these, most are really old time sayings that just won't die (loafing)

Uh... let's see.

Vile Day Star ... the Sun (personal saying of my friends and I)
Bernarding ... giving plot spoilers even after saying you won't (another personal one)
Douchebaggary ... the act of a colossal jerk/douche (personal)

More common Southern California Slang:
Flip a b**** ... make a U-turn (quite common around here)
Ginormous... really, really big (gigantic + enormous. More common in the Bay area but spreading south)
Dude... a common saying that is often gender-neutral used in speech (Dude, there was this major douche on the freeway, totally cut me off!)
Totally... used for emphasis, see above.
Like... hard to explain but we actually do insert it into our speech far too much. Often follows "its".
Sweet... means awesome. Can be used as an adjective or stand-alone (a sweet parking spot. OR Person A) Dude, I got you that soda you like. Person B) Sweet!)
SoCal: Southern California (generally from Santa Barbara down)
The O.C.: Orange County (where Disneyland is). Not used by residents of Orange County or immediate areas (like Long Beach)
NorCal: Northern California
Freeway: Highway or Interstate (example 405 freeway or 5 freeway instead of the I-5. usually we just say the letters, like "the four o' five", "the one o' one", etc)
PCH: Pacific Coast Highway, aka California State Highway 1 which runs all the way up the coast.
The 909: area code for the area out near Riverside, Fontana, and other outskirt areas of SoCal. Generally seen as redneck-style people, thus can be used as an insult.
Frisco: San Fransisco, used in SoCal only really
LBC: City of Long Beach... blame the band Sublime.
Angelenos: citizen of Los Angeles... blame the mayor.

Gaffing you off: when someone says they will do something and goes about their own business

Scuttlebutt: water fountain (northern USA thinks water fountains are the things in Rome with statues.... sadly mistaken... thats a Fountain...... they call their 'water fountains' 'bubblers' which is a tobacco smoking device )

Thats straight: Good Deal

Thats whats up: Cool

Hawk/shank: To stab or attack.
Jumped: Almost literal, to get attacked.
