So is anybody excited about this? Telltale Games is making a Minecraft Story Mode that's supposed to come out next year and I am kind of excited about it.

I am quite looking forward to seeing what Minecraft's Story Mode will contain, and what would it contain. The biggest thing in my mind if it's the 2.0 release that is soon to come up sometime this year is what I am wondering.

It is about time. I have been complaining about this for years, as I generally do not like Sandbox games. But, this will definitely get me into Minecraft more, and give me something to look forward too, as I plan on getting Minecraft when I eventually get my new laptop. 

I'm not sure what to think of it. I should be excited for it, because the creators have a great reputation.

But for some reason the fact that it might be really linear turns me off to the idea.

If it's like an adventure map, except extremely well made, then I could go for it.

EideticMemory : That's what I'm concerned about as well. I probably wouldn't be too nervous, but Microsoft will have a say in it as well undoubtedly, so there's the chance that the creators won't get to be fully in charge of what goes into the game.

I admit, I'm relatively relieved to hear that the game will be a stand-alone game. It won't be added into Minecraft, but rather will be it's own game. I see both pros and cons to that, but I think that avoiding adding too much story to Minecraft will keep it familiar and enjoyable.

I am excited for it, though, as I've played a brief bit of The Walking Dead: Season 2, which Telltale Games was responsible for making. If the game has the quality of The Walking Dead: Season 2, but a more minecrafty feel, then I'll be pretty excited to buy and play through the game. I also like that they promised to avoid going into detail on Steve or the world of Minecraft, since the vagueness surrounding both allow the player to really submerge themselves into the game and enjoy a more personal feel.

As telltale have a heavy reputation, the game is likely to turn out good. Anyhow, I don't really know what it will be about to be honest.
Like, what choices are we going to get? And will there be other characters? It seems too much to plan, but if they manage to pull it off, great.

My only concern is that it would require an extra purchase. I have gotten Minecraft just this year, so I would be very upset if I couldn't just go into Single-player and access this game mode... The idea is really cool, so I'm excited about this! Personally, I hope that they keep the free-roam aspects, 'cause otherwise I would not like it at all. 

thing1 : Minecraft is awesome! I was reluctant, as I have never played a Sandbox style game before, but it's beautiful! I advise that you check into it more, but I can assure you it's fun!

darthyoda : Of course you're going to have to pay again, it's not the same game.

I'm not sure if I would like to get the game, but it sure seems interesting! The game would definitely be a great addition to the Mojang collection! I mean, I don't know if the game will be a sandbox game still, because when I think of Minecraft, I think of a sandbox game.
 
darthyoda : That might be a concern for many people, especially if you have to pay a lot. I bet if they implemented the entire game into Minecraft, it would be nice. But that's just my opinion.

mario102 : I think it might be still a large open map with a story, like Grand Theft Auto, but it won't be the same as regular Minecraft.

Oh boy! I can't wait to see what Minecraft: Story Mode has to offer. Once it's released I might get it for my birthday or Christmas x-P.

That sounds amazing! I love games like that! I don't play MC that much, so when story mode comes, I will play minecraft much more often.
