i have a couple gamecube games, as well as half of my ps2 collection, that need repairing, but i dont want to have it done if it will actually make them less valuable. most of my concern is with resident evil 4, metroid prime and super smash brothers melee.

Video games are one thing that don't lose value if they're refurbished. To have your games buffed is expensive so make sure whatever you want buffed is worth having buffed. The games you listed would definitely be worth it.
