When I was living with my parents, we had a few different levels of 'trouble.'  I was grounded from friends, I lost tv/video game time, I was spanked with a wooden spoon on serious occasions.

The worst my parents ever get is a verbal reprimand. How long that chat is depends on the infringement. It could be a brief warning for swearing or a 10-minute lecture for fighting.

My parents had a large arsenal that included: writing sentences (100-1,000, and purposefully wordy), standing in a corner (as close as possible, 1 hr - 3 hrs), spankings with a flyswatter (2-10, and the plastic often fell off, causing much pain from the wire), laying face down in the floor (1-4 hrs), exercise (this was the most rare, but included 20-40 minutes of high knee jogging, jumping jacks, etc), groundings (laughable, because there was nothing to ground us FROM... no friends, Internet, or TV, always 1-8 weeks; I guess we just weren't allowed to play outside in the yard), time spent on bed (doing absolutely nothing, 2hrs-6hrs), and the worst.... the very, very worst.... lectures (always the same, always on our feet, never very kind, 2-5 hours, and leaving us kids unsure what facial expression to keep or where to keep our eyes, lest we be accused of disrespect).

My parents almost always ban me from every screen when I'm in a lot of trouble, ranging from a day to a few days. I'm a great son unless something's really ticking me off and I'm determined to do something about it. I raged about my brother on my birthday this year and I didn't get punished, but later I complained constantly and got punished for the day. I don't do that kind of crud anymore because it's not worth it. I'd rather do something about it myself or try to get over it.

My parents generally either shout at me or don't even talk to me when I do something really stupid. The longest time they didn't speak to me was a week and that was for fighting with my brother. Compared to everyone else mines doesn't sound bad. I generally don't get in trouble so that may be why. My mum is definately better at it than my dad. My dad just barks. My mum bites.

My parents normally take away computer time. They know that I just love to be on the computer that they use that against me. Other than that, my parents like to lecture me. The worst punishment was getting grounded for supposedly a month, but that broke away in a few days.
