What do you do when you need to make a big post? If I need to make a walkthrough or review I normally pm myself it then keep sending and replying when I add a big part to it. Sometimes if I need a reminder or need to post a thread in the future I pm myself too because I get a notification.

If i ever make a big review, i save every major edit in Notepad.

It's primitive, but it stores my progress just fine and i can save to it a lot faster than i can with Word, which i only ever use to spell check, really.

For the most part, when I'm making a review or a story or something that is definitely long in nature, I'll usually create a word document so that I can still work on them without internet (which is when I tend to be most productive).
Every once in a blue moon though, I'll end up typing a big old post in one go without realizing until I submit.

I often let mine sit for HOURS with little typing. The thing I do with the large posts, Copy before I complete the entire thing, or just after the end of the paragraph. This way, if it clocks out and I don't get the credit, I can just go back, make a new thread, and begin again. 

I tried the other way, but it seemed harder, because you have to reformat a bunch. (Italicize and stuff like that, doesn't hold in the copy paste.)

I usually just type it up. I don't seem to have that 15 minute idle rule apply to me for some reason.

I've done the PMing myself trick before. Though I only did that early on.

But 99% of my longer posts now are typed in Google Docs. There's a little bit of formatting to do, but 3-4 extra minutes of reformatting for my progress getting constantly saved is a pretty good trade-off.

I did get this Chrome Extension at one point that saves everything typed into text boxes. It was helpful for a month or two in the summer when I was losing a lot of posts. Or when I decided not to post something, but wanted to later.

I later disabled it because college started, and I was typing some more important information into text boxes. But I plan to put it on my old laptop that I primarily use for gaming.

This all started when I lost a review I spend several hours on.

I learned my lesson, and I don't intend to learn it again. =P

I always use the Old Post Editor, because I like it's style better, so I always type out the coding I use and such. That means I can use Word and such without losing formatting. I lost Word with my last computer wipe (motherboard's been failing, gotten it replaced 3 times now), so I'm stuck using RTD's or Google Docs.
