For me the game ending that got to me ( have to agree with Zanderlex on this one ) was the end for Persona 4 Golden. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone who has not played the game but .... seriously ... come on!! Since there are 7 endings ( 3 bad and 3 good ... plus one excellent ending ) to the game possible. I will just say the worst one is one of the bad endings. Lot goes wrong for ya' in that. Best ending tho is sweet. I won't spoil it for ya' tho. Also have to agree there was quite a few parts in it that will get your attention and tug at you emotionally.

(spoiler alert) The saddest ending I have encountered, is that of Saints Row the Third on PS3 (and Xbox 360), at the end of the game you have two sides of the story, the first ending, you chose to save Shandi and then you go on to play the movie, the second ending is to catch Killvain, but if you chose this side, Shandi dies, and when this happens it brought tears to my eyes as she is the second character introduced in the game, and its heart breaking to see her die in an explosion...

I honestly can't think of any. Just like movies, it takes quite a bit to move me for video games. Although I still get goose bumps when Cecil becomes a paladin, I can't say I have had a tear-jerking moment for video games.

The saddest moment I've ever experienced in a video game was the moment when Aeris was killed by Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII. I've never cried over something that happened in a video game, but that moment was the closest I've ever come to actually shedding a tear.

gamerforlifeforever2 : I don't know... the fact that she wasn't in the team didn't really move me. I thought that Tellah's death was more dramatic because his hatred blinded him and killed him.

*SPOILERS*

The one that comes to mind is the Walking Dead Season One. Clementine and Lee are one of the greatest duos in gaming history. I couldn't bring it to myself to kill Lee in the end. I chose to leave him behind alive but my heart ached in those last final moments unlike any heartache I've ever felt in any other video game yet.  Just when I thought things were winding down the suspense spiked when that zombie was right on Lee's leg and it was up to Clementine to "save him," but it was already too late. Walking Dead Season Two also carried a strong, sad ending but the creme of the crop goes to season one.

I haven't played a lot of games with sad endings but I have to say, fallout 3. It's really sad how no matter what, the game ends and you can die or your aid or poison the world even more. Sad
