At the moment, there are more than two dozen olympic video games out there. 15 of these games are official Olympics branded video games and include the 4 Mario and Sonic games.

My favorite is the first Mario & Sonic at the olympic games vidoe game which I played a lot on the DS. What is your favorite?

Fun fact- Every two years, an official game is made for the olympics, however, 2014 was the only year to not feature a real sports game, having only a Sonic & Mario game released.

Honestly i would have to say the sonic and Mario Olympic games are the best mainly because they can be played with other players and the games are usually at least visually interesting and require you to actively have to do things well to win certain events.

The problem most Olympic games seem to suffer from is the fact that most of them seem to be button mashers and that kinda sucks. Especially if you do not have good finger speed or you want your controller to last longer than 6 months... At least it is not on like a Nintendo 64 analogue controller.. There were a few games that involved rotating the ridged analogue stick as fast as possible and it ended up in much pain and misery for a lot of people

Sonic and Mario, any one of them.

Like muffin said, most Olympic games tend to be nothing but button-mashing, as the Mario & Sonic games are one of the few exceptions.

Like everyone else here has said, my favorite Olympic games video game would definitely have to be the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games series because those ones have many characters from both of the beloved franchises. Then again, I haven't played or even seen very many other games based off the Olympics.

Mine would have to be any of the 'Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games' games. They are visually interesting (And I enjoy playing as easily recognisable characters), and often they are engaging enough that I don't feel like I may as well be watching the regular olympics.

Unpopular opinion here, but my favorite Olympics game is actually Athens 2004.

I never cared for the Mario and Sonic Olympic games, they are wayyyy overrated, and I don't care much for the brand crossover.

Athens was easy (after a few months, I broke every record in the game as it shipped) but it had a fun enjoyability factor, especially in my favorite events, like the long jump and the races.
