Hey guys. So this is a short thread that with a simple question to ask. Do U have a scoliosis? Sorry if this question disturbs you but no offence... it's when your spine is curved from side to side. My mom was so worried about me having scoliosis because when I sit in a chair, my back isn't straight. She took me to the doctor and thank god I don't have one! So do U have one? Well if you don't want to say it's ok, I'm not forcing ya. Be careful, you really must avoid scoliosis. If you're 18 or older and don't have a scoliosis, then you're fine. Oh and close this if there is a thread similar to this one oki? Oh and to stop the scoliosis, you must do several exercices in sports.

I know of one person who has it. A friend of mine from seventh grade had some pretty nasty scoliosis. He hunched over and couldn't see much. He got some back braces, but that didn't stop us from laughing at his tiny size. I pretty much couldn't stand next to him because i was over a foot taller.

I know a person from my high school who had scoliosis a few years ago. I saw that he had a collar thing to support his back. Luckily I don't have it but it feels sad to hear that some people have it. I exercised a lot during high school everyday so I guess I am safe and sound.

I do not, and is know because we recently did something about it at my school. They checked us all, and hey told me that I was perfectly fine and let me go. I don't know anyone there who had scoliosis.

Is it really impossible to get scoliosis after you're 18?  O.o I was just going to say that I didn't think I had it, but that I also hadn't had the test since I was in school..... maybe that's why?

I've always had incredible posture thanks to my mom always harping us kids about it.  Do you find it hard to sit straight, or is it simply not a habit?  Sitting slumped can cause harm in your future, so you might want to practice better posture. Even if it's uncomfortable, try forcing yourself to sit straight until it is comfortable and also a habit.

I do have it. It's why I have to swim, even though I hate the sport. Luckily, it's not too bad of a curve, but it could get worse if I'm not careful to take preventive measures. A girl in my AP Language class just had surgery for it, actually, and we both agreed it is terrible! (My scoliosis resulted from a tethered cord I was born with; the cord was fixed surgically, and the scoliosis was not).
