Here is my review on Angel beats, A anime that a lot of people enjoy and that i must admit is rather interesting. So please read the review below!
Synopsis
Imagine one day you wake up and learn that you are dead . That is how it all started for Otonashi , at least . He gets a quick explanation from a fiery girl describing what is going on and then it dawns on him : all he knows about himself is his name . He quickly joins her gang of people that call themselves the Afterlife Battlefront in an attempt to regain his memories .
Genre 10
This is a bit tricky to pinpoint for me as it encompasses so much . It is an action , a comedy , a drama , and a good bit of supernatural as well . It uses all of them quite effectively as well so it makes it a bit hard to say exactly which it falls under . The action is exciting , the comedy is hilarious , the drama makes my heart sink and the supernatural element is put out in your face at the very beginning . I can not complain about any of it because of how well done it all was .
Story 10
Being stuck in a place that can only be described as purgatory with absolutely no memories of your past self seems a bit daunting . All everyone wants is to be able to move forward and be released from this state . You follow each characters story and find out who they were before they died and what led to their death , all while trying to fight back against everything holding them back . It is all very touching and heartbreaking , this anime was probably one of the most moving and emotional ones I have ever seen , just a feels roller coaster the whole ride.

I can not really find much to say about the art of it , it was fairly average on my honest opinion. The character designs were nice enough , nothing to complain about . The characters themselves all had their own qualities that added to the anime . Everything was neatly done and the effects were pleasing . All in all it was maybe a bit above average but nothing extremely note worthy either .
Sound 9
An added bonus to Angel Beats is that they have more than just and opening , an ending and background music . There is a band that plays somewhat often and holds a big part in the overall progress of things . The songs are all charming and pleasant to listen to and if you finish the series you will get hit with a wave of emotion again if you listen to them . The OP and EN were also nice and refreshing and the background music while not extremely noticeable added nicely to the scenes and overall feel of everything .
Addictiveness 10
I was pretty much hooked once the plot got put in place , only had to take a few breaks to pull myself together again and try to man through the rest . I followed each characters story with just as much joy and sadness equally and it was all well worth it in the end .
Over-All 10
This clearly is not everyone's cup of tea , a lot of people are not looking for so much out of what they watch . It is also not very fitting for just any old occasion , this is not something I would really recommend you watch with friends or anything . I enjoyed this to no end though , it moved me in so many ways I have not found anything else that really compares to it , and no I haven't watched Clannad . I strongly recommend this to anyone that may have even the slightest bit of interest in this.
