As I stand here, remembering you,
a floodgate of tears fall freely and uncontrollably down my face.
Wishing your fingers would trace those tear stains away.
Why, oh why, were you taken from me?
The sky opened up and rain comes rushing down.
Mother nature’s floodgates have opened.
And here we see…

Mother nature’s sorrow
I feel punished…
How many more loved ones will I stand to lose to fate and circumstance?
The will to play and dance
Has all but left me,  feeling cold and empty

Suffocation, violence, and a drunk driver
The slayers of young life
My words to you will not bring you back to me
Too young to properly mourn you all, but…
These words come rushing onto paper as my heart opens like a floodgate

These floodgates will someday dry up…
For now, I just want to love you all
And let my heart cry

luv2game! : Wow, I'm not a huge fan of poetry, but I have written some myself. This one really expresses a lot of feeling. And not thematically dramatic, either. Somehow, it just hits home as a real emotion; and not some cheesy, weepy act. Good job, and...my condolences to you for all those you lost on the path of life. I myself know a lot about this...

Eniitan : It has been a while. Work has been a boon. I had been pulling early morning shifts in the kitchen on top of the evening shifts. Plus, I'm working on a book of poetry on Wattpad. Once that's completed, I'm going to publish it on Smashwords. Also, I've been hired as a Non-Certified Nursing Assistant. Instead of doing the early morning shifts, I'm going to overnights and keeping evenings in the kitchen. So yeah, I've been busy. Anywho, I'll be sharing some more works now that I've got the days free.
