This is a relatively easy one for me, seeing as how I ever owned a Nintendo 64, and a Play Station 1. With that being said, I played my Nintendo 64 WAY MORE than I played the Play Station 1, so I vote for the Nintendo 64.

So, what is your favorite retro console? And actually playing the game, not a ROM of it. Anything from Play Station 1 or older counts, I suppose.

I am interested in your guy's answers, specifically.

My favorite retro game console is the Nintendo 64. It was one of the first retro consoles that I have ever played with and it conquered of my younger memories when I was younger.

I don't have a favorite, to be honest. I like them all. Each retro system has a variety that I can enjoy whenever I feel like it. My older siblings have an NES and a Playstation 2 (I know, not retro) at our home. But since I'm on a college campus, I see a variety of consoles. I know a couple of people who are living in a dorm together with an N64, Gamecube, Wii, and a Wii U.

Well I've only ever owned 2 consoles which could be considered retro which is the Sega Mega Drive (genesis in North America) and a Gameboy Pocket. I played them both a lot when I was young, On my Sega I played a bunch of platformers like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Aladdin and Pinocchio. And on my gameboy I did play a few different games but it was mainly for playing Pokemon Silver and Gold. I probably spent the most time playing on my gameboy pocket despite having to switch batteries all the time since I love Pokemon but I had a lot of fun playing on my Sega Genesis as well.

So if I have to pick I'll go with both :3

I am going to have to go with the NES because that was the first system that I have ever owned and I had a lot of fun with it. The first time I had it though, I didn't have that many good games for it, so I didn't actually like it until after a year or so of having it.

Zlinqx : Isn't the GameBoy Pocket basically a GameBoy Advanced / SP that you could fit in the palm of your hand because it was darn tiny?

thing1 : You're thinking about the Gameboy Micro. The gameboy pocket was basically a smaller upgraded version of the original gameboy.

My favorite console is probably the Dreamcast. So many good games for it. Lately though I've been wondering if the Xbox 360 should be considered my favorite console since I have played it on more than any other system and it's what I still currently play the most.

Its a easy choice for me. The N64 is my favorite and probably my favorite of all time. Came out with some of my favorite games. Like super Mario 64 and The legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It broke my heart when the thing stopped working.

Definitely the Super Nintendo. Lots of people think the N64 is better because of its revolutionary graphics and 3D gameplay (Super Mario 64 anyone?), which is true, but I've had the most fun playing Super Nintendo. The Super Nintendo is the most nostalgic system for me. Most kids my age first played GameBoy Advance or GameCube first, but from when I was three and first started playing to when I was 8, the Super Nintendo practically raised me. Super Mario World, Lemmings, Donkey Kong Country (specifically Diddy's Kong-Quest), Super Star Wars... All those games were my favorites as a child. When I play it now, putting all nostalgia aside, it feels so much better than the N64. Faster, funner, better.

My all time favorite has to be the Sega Genesis. I have so many games for it. It's probably close to 100 honestly. I really starting getting into video games because of that system with all of the Sonic the Hedgehog games and the RPG's. I remember paying $79.99 for Phantasy Star IV in the mid 90's and just got hooked on RPG's and have been a video game addict since then. Of course I still can't believe I paid 80 bucks for a Genesis game though looking back. I would go crazy if I had to do that now.

thing1 : Me my game system of choice is the Super Nintendo, while I admit to not growing up with one thanks to emulations I was able to play it and enjoy it. I'm a man who loves RPG's and the Super Nintendo was the Resisance of RPG's, giving many creative and memorable RPG's from Earthbound to Final Fantasy, Terranigma, Dragon Quest, and much much more. There is a reason many of the games were ported to the Game Boy Advance and why its still talked around today.

Course if I have to give a close second...PS2...what its considered retro by todays standards, heck 5 years ago is considered old school LOL. I love that one for its RPG's as well, Seeing a pattern, course my RPG's of choices came from the Company Nippin Ichi, Disgaea, Phantom Brave, La Pucell Tactics, Makai Kingdom, all many good RPG's with memorable characters and stories and of course an extremely high level cap of 9999...yeah try maxing out your character in those games, I dare ya.
