You’re to build the best... SPACECRAFT. Isn’t that awesome?!

But what defines a spacecraft? You need to know that.

For the purposes of this competition, it’s anything that’s at built AT LEAST 10 blocks higher than the ground. So if it’s connected to the ground after the month ends, it won’t be considered a spacecraft.

If you hadn’t noticed, that means you have a LOT of room to do what you please.

It can be a spaceship, or a flying ship--anything that you choose!

Submitting your Creations

Your creation should be POSTED TO THIS THREAD and that’s the only way that it will be considered, except in extreme circumstances.

You have the liberty to choose how you want to present it, whether it be video(s) or screenshot(s). If you have questions about how you want to present it and whether it would be alright, then ask.

There are multiple ways of getting Minecraft screenshots, but one of the simpler ways is hitting F2. You can retrieve those screenshots by going into “%appdata%” in your computer, then “.minecraft”, then “screenshots”.

There are many good video recording softwares out there. I normally use the free trial of Camtasia. It has very little lag, and I was able to use it my Devil’s Nightmare speedrun, meaning it’s pretty darn good.

Your submissions will be evaluated on creativity, completeness, and aesthetics.

This is a fairly easy one to compete in, and I hope to see a lot of submissions.

The Prizes

1st Place - 20,000 Viz or MViz
2nd Place - 10,000 Viz or MViz
3rd Place - 5,000 Viz or MViz
Attempt (Everyone else, basically) - 500 Viz or MViz

Other Notes and Rules

- Does the 10 block rule include staircases or ladders? Cause how else will others get into my creation?

It does include those, and this is IMPORTANT. In order to ensure that you and others can get into your structure after you submit, you’re allowed to have a waterfall from the entrance of your structure.

But that’s it.

I’ll remind submissions of this later on if it comes up, but this is crucial. Ask if you have any questions of what I mean by waterfalls, even though it should be apparent.

- Whelp! I just counted, and my structure is only 9 blocks off the ground!

Sorry dude, tough luck. I kid. We won’t be counting exactly, so chances are that we won’t be able to tell. Any lower than 7 blocks off the ground and you’re risking it. There’s multiple reasons for this rule, one of which is so that it’s not just a ground structure that was transformed last minute by knocking off the bottom 2-3 layers.

- Don’t act against the integrity of the competition. If you’re having doubts about whether what you’re doing is right, chances are that you’re doing something you’re not supposed to. Let’s play fair.

Ask in this thread or PM me/mrfe! Mrfe will probably be able to answer your questions at just about the same capacity that I’m able to. I’m sure the other OPs will be willing to answer a question if they know the answer. I don’t want you to be afraid of asking questions.

This one looks interesting. Unfortunately I kinda suck as building these sorts of things xD I think I may have to pass on this contest. Then again, my boredom at college in chemistry calculations might encourage me to make up a mediocre design. Best of luck everyone!

So, this time, it's about building a spacecraft. Anything floating or flying in the sky is allowed, right? Well, I have an idea (well, two ideas stuck in my mind) but I don't know how good it will be. I might try this contest, eventually.

I have 2-3 spaceships with the only problem being that they are landed and not hovering.

In the case that a team wins, the team will need to let me know how to split up the prize.

What if I put fire and smoke, or even a "force field" like thing, coming from the ship as it's propulsion system, could my blocks of "smoke" or "purple glowy alien stuff" be less than ten from the ground? Because when I saw the title, I immediately thought of having a scorched ground underneath or something. Like, my ship will be in the air, but the exhaust will be blasting back scorching the ground, or is that a no? If not, I still have some ideas if I can get the time.

You can have exhaust based on how high your structure is in the air.

Just no ground scorching awesomeness, unfortunately. =/

This may be a silly question but I'll ask it anyway before I make a mistake. So, you see the building in Megod? I'd like to make the second part of this project in the air but I also want to connect it to the first part using floating platforms, in other words that giant "fortress". Will this second part count as a submission for the contest or not?

Oh I forgot to tell you it'll be built nearby the "fortress", on another plot of course. But it'll be next to the "fortress".
