Ah, Star Wars. The magnificent universe of lasers, interplanetary wars, Jedis, Sith... I could go on forever. The Star Wars universe is massive. But I'm here to talk about the best of the 6 main episodes. Which is my favorite? Better question, which is your favorite? Post it in this thread!

Episode I: The Phantom Menace is one of my favorites. I feel like this episode is quite a bit different for some reason. Who doesn't love Darth Maul and Liam Neeson and podracing? But of course I liked episodes IV, V, and VI. It's very hard to pick, but I'll have to choose Episode I.

So what do you think? What's your favorite episode?

Yeah. I will have to agree with Epiosde 1, and with Liam Neeson who is one of my favorites. Not only is it my favorite movie, but it's my favorite in general, even the game was my favorite.

I can only really digest IV, V, and VI. Out of those three, I'd say V is my favourite. It's really the only star wars movie I'm interested in enough to watch again and again.

The Phantom Menace was decent, and of course the original three movies are great, but it would be too hard to choose which is why I am just gonna go with one of the prequel movies. As far as I am concerned there are only two prequel movies, The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith. I'm gonna choose Revenge of the Sith, because I feel it had the best story, watching Anakin turn into Darth Vadar, it has a lot of emotion the others don't, although are still fantastic movies, I mean all five Star Wars movies are great .

Empire Strikes Back without a doubt.

This one was the one that stuck with me ever since my dad showed me the first 3 as a kid. I became obsessed with Darth Vader and Lightsabers and all of the rest.

Even though now I don't run down the hallway making lazer noises with a replica X-Wing in my hand I still think it's a great film and the best so far.

Who knows? Disney may surprise us with something phenomenal.

TheFadedWarrior :

I really like number 5 and number 2.

Yeah, I have to agree with yoshi sort of, number especially, though number 3 made a lot of sense to me as a movie, number 1 wasn't that bad.

But number 2?

Yeah. It kindof sucked- all that romance felt. . . pointless and like it was just taking up time. I mean sheesh.

But that battle at the end?

WOW.

I really loved it.

You can hate episode II all you want, but you have to love the battle of Geonosis at the end. That's for sure.

But Episode V is much better overall. It's battle on Hoth was pretty neat.

I don't know, but I like Episode II way more just because of how much I like clone troopers and other aspects like Jango Fett, and Count Dukuu plus the action at the end was great.

Am I the only one who found Padme's relationship with Anakin somewhat annoying? :/

But I also really loved the events on Hoth and the snowtroopers.

It's all pretty good, but (if I can do this) my favorite episode was episode II minus the annoying romance parts.

Those parts didn't really annoy me, they just didn't make the movie very exciting. I wanted to see more action out of Star Wars, and it didn't come till the very end.  :/

Oh well.

How do you choose a favorite, from your favorite Series? Okay, hard decision made, I like Episode III because of the cool action, story, and the music! I think that Episode VI (Return of the Jedi) is really cool, and actually ties with Episode III (Revenge of the Sith.)

My favorite of them all is Empire Strikes Back. If I had to go in order of favorite to least it would be this:
Empire Strikes Back
A new Hope
Return Of The Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
The Phantom Menace
Attack Of The Clones

I do admit that the battle at the end of EP II was great and was the only thing to save the movie for me to be honest, the acting and romance just felt forced and not genuine.

For me Revenge of the Sith hands down. I love Ewan McGreggor and his portrayal of Obi-Wan a lot. Anakin was a pretty interesting character to me too, but so easily manipulated. Sadly. But I guess if he hadn't been, we wouldn't have had that entire saga, so no complaining here! I think I must have watched the movie a dozen times because I loved it so much. I also have the game on ps2 and I'm never going to part with it lol. I also read the novel of the movie, which was interesting because it gives that little bit more than the movie. Revenge of the Sith made me both laugh and cry. How Anakin killed those younglings... I think I was just as shocked as Obi-Wan when I saw it. For me that was one of the worst movies. And the fight with Obi-Wan of course. "You were my brother! I loved you!" just about killed me. It did bother me a lot though that Obi-Wan just left him like that, leaving him to die. Or not, maybe he knew that Vader would somehow survive. But, the fact that he didn't even make an attempt to somehow get Anakin back out of the influence of Palpatine.

I guess I'm the odd man out.  I've a mild obsession with Star Wars (Own every book, the complete WEG RPG, a near complete set of the WotC miniatures(Missing two), A near complete set of the old Decipher CCG (Missing 5 cards, all but one from the Coruscant set), two complete sets of Starship Battles, a near complete set of the comic books, and a host of other collectibles.)  That being said, it looks like I'm the first to vote episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Favorite Star Wars movies in order of preference:
-Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
-Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
-Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
-Episode II: Attack of the Clones
-Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Movie)
-Episode IV: A New Hope
-Ewoks: Caravan of Courage
-Ewoks: Battle for Endor
-Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Definitely Star Wars IV. While Star Wars V was good but I just felt that the first one deserved the most props for establishing the franchise, characters, universe, lore etc.

I would definitely have to pick A New Hope. The main reason is because that was the first one I ever watched. And it was also really action packed and revolutionized the movie industry forever.

For me, it was a toss-up between Star Wars episode the empire strikes back 5 and episode 6 the return of the jedi. They're both very memorable movies that have great acting and cool battles as well. At the end of the day though, I have to say that The Empire Strikes Back is better because Return of the Jedi had this one scene in Jaba the Hutt's palace where this alien's singing this annoying and terrible song. that scene should've been a deleted scene right there, while The Empire Strikes Back didn't have any annoying scenes like that one.

I am surprised so many people vote for Episode IV. I mean, when it came out it was very original and all, but Episode V is still the best one. It is dark, its dialogues are actually thought-off and the special effects do not take all the room as with the new trilogy.

Itachi_4_ever : true, Ewan McGregor was good as Obi-Wan, and Ian McDirmid did a very good Emperor. However the actor playing Anakin completely destroyed the character of Darth Vader. Padmé was merely there, "being pretty and pregnant." At least in episode II she was still the strong-willed woman she was in episode I. And please, Grievous? A coughing robot? FInally the final battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin was kind of anti-climatic. Must have been Hayden again...

Sword legion : yes, the romance kind of sucked but at least Padmé did not try to look like Stepford Wife as in Episode III. We can still see that she wants to use her brains to try and get by. And yes, the battle was awesome. People were ecstatic in the theater the night of the premiere!

I would say Episode 3 simply because the fight scene between Anakin and Obi-Wan was very similar to an experience I went through myself. The first time I saw that I was nearly in tears.
I'll never forget the famous line "You were my brother Anakin. I loved you..."

My favorite Star wars episode would have to be revenge of the Sith. I like this episode the most because it explores the dark side of human nature and are darkest of traits like greed and envy and really shows just how horrible people can become when given power and shows just what people will be willing to do to obtain power.
