* For the record, in my opinion its still WAY too early to be labeling anybody. I think merf could be back at .500 by next week. I like all of his picks for this week with the exception of the Jaguars. But hey, Blake Bortles could surprise everybody. Again, that little phrase comes to mind "any given Sunday"...

MattyIce : Yeah, I just can't see the Jags going 0-4-0 this week. They certainly aren't a great team, and I kinda doubt they'll even get a .500 record this season, but I do think they'll be 1-3-0 after this week.

mrfe : I agree with you there. At the start of the season, I saw them as more of a 5 - 11 team, but right now, they are looking like more of a 4 - 12 or a 3- 13 team, which is sad. I think they are one of the better "bad" teams in the NFL, and I think by 2020, they will be shocking a lot of people at far they have come. 

thing1 : 6 years in the NFL is an eternity. Unfortunately for the Jags, if they don't show signs of improvement, say 7-8 wins within the next 2 years, they will be forced to completely overhaul the team. The NFL is definitely a "what have you done for me lately" type of league.

Take the Oakland raiders for example. 6 years ago, in 2008. Coming off a 4-12 season, expectations were high with JaMarcus Russell entering his second season. The team looked poised to make improvements. They showed some signs, and went 5-11. And how many players from 2008 are still on the team now? 3. Sebastian Janikoswki, a kicker, and the first 2 picks of 2008, Darren McFadden and Tyvon Branch.

Now I will give the Jags one thing, Blake Bortles has a much stronger work ethic than Russell, and he looks to be a QB to build around, but the Jags have so many holes. Unfortunately by the time 2020 roles around, you will see a completely different team with 5 or less players remaining from the season, But that may or may not be a good thing.

jparks34 : All I am saying is that they are one of the teams that nobody really cares about because they aren't that good, but that I think the Jags will have a few good years starting around that time.
