Anybody want to discuss anything about the league here? I know everybody has an opinion about the Dez Bryant call, but that's for the NFL Discussion thread. Just trying to keep things on topic here guys.

BUMPING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, did you know that football used to use leather helmets? Deaths have gone down significantly when they switched over to the newer designed helmets.

Well, the Super Bowl is now set, and I think the two teams are VERY deserving. I really thought the Packers would pull off an unbelievable playoff road win in Seattle after the first half of that game. But I guess that's why football games are 60 minutes, not 30 minutes long. Even though I'm disappointed to see the Packers lose, I think this Super Bowl is finally featuring two of the best teams from their respective conferences...something that almost NEVER happens.

Now that we've talked about the real Super Bowl, lets see what our Super Bowl will be 2 weeks from now. Here are the results from the Vizzed Conference Championship matchups:

SUPER BOWL MATCHUP: thing1 vs pacman1755 - the Pick 'Em thread's first ever Super Bowl matchup will feature thing1 up against pacman1755. They will predict a score of the sure-to-be-great game between the Patriots and the Seahawks on February 1st in Arizona.

NOTE 1: thing1 wins because of tie - breaker #3...the Patriots win the game, and he predicted they'd score 34 points. The Patriots actually scored 45 points, which is a differential of 11 points. patar predicted the Patriots would score 27 points, which is a differential of 18 points. thing1 has the smaller of the two differentials, so he wins.

NOTE 2: pacman1755 wins because of tie - breaker #3...since the Seahawks won the game and both players predicted the Packers would win, we look at the losing score of both players' predictions. pacman predicted the Seahawks would score 24 points. The Seahawks actually score 28 points, which is a differential of 4 points. Barathemos predicted the Seahawks would score 20 points, which is a differential of 8 points. pacman has the smaller of the two differentials, so he wins.

Well, I was expecting a win from the Patriots with a score of 4? to 2? , but not 45  - 7. Did somebody watch the game? I stopped watching after the first quarter. 

And that comeback though. I was only watching the end because I was Skyping my girlfriend, and she wanted me to do a play by play, and she was mad because she hates the Seahawks. 

Now, since the Super Bowl is 2 weeks away, and the Pro Bowl is this week, me and MattyIce have discussed something that will work out: Those who were in the league can predict the Pro Bowl just for fun this week. However, it will not affect your standings what so ever. If you would like, you can send MattyIce 1,000 Viz. If you incorrectly guessed the winner, you lose out on it all. However, if you correctly guess the winner, MattyIce will split the pot of the people who paid evenly, and dish the Viz out. So, for example, if 10 people guessed, 7 got the game correct, and 9 people paid, but 5 got it correct, then those 5 people would split up 9,000 Viz because they got it correct and they paid.

I'm predicting the Seahawks take home the repeat, with a score of 38 - 32. I may change the score later, but for now, that's what I'm going with. 

thing1 : Wow! I don't mind you picking the Seahawks, but 70 total points scored in the game? The Seahawks defense has only given up 30+ points twice this year ( I think ). If the scoring in this game is going to be that high, then both teams' offenses won't be the only ones doing the scoring. It seems you're ready for a very exciting game, because that's what it will be if the scoring goes that high. In my opinion, I think the first team to 25 points should win it.

I'd say that the Patriots are going to win this one. So this is my pick.

The big game is finally here! Its the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 49!
