This time of the year is currently summer which means lots of heat and sweat. All of that lovely heat and sweat attracts the one and only enemy that everyone hates the most, MOSQUITOES! Mosquitoes love to come at this time of the year just to take our blood while leaving marks on our skin. Those evil rascals!

So how many mosquito bites do you have at the moment (unless you are one of those secret lucky yet exotic mosquito repelers)?

For some reason I'm usually one of those secret lucky yet exotic mosquito repelers but even I was stung a few days ago (my four days when I was gone) and I had one mark on my had, I think two or three in my neck, and two large ones on my right leg. Brrr

I got a few ( they tend to go for my legs ) and to make things worse I live near water which is a breeding ground for them but to be honest it is not the bites that bother me - it's the diseases they carry. Some people in my county got West Nile Virus and one unlucky person got Chickungunya.

But on a more positive note, sometimes I see them as they are doing their thing and then I get them!

I only got bit by a mosquito once this summer and it was on my nose. I went down stairs to get some fresh air and I guess I didn't notice the misquote on my nose. The bite looked so bad on my face it made me look ugly for the next five days. The next time I decide to stand outside I'll spray some Off spray on myself to repel those monstrosities.

I'm not really a mosquito repeller at all. I just came in from mowing my yard and I live in the middle of Arkansas. I'm looking at my left arm and there's at least five or six. The only reason I know is cause they swell up like those little balls from Hungry, Hungry Hippos. =P

Well the thing is. I am a vampire who hates the light aka I never go outside almost.

So this summer I have a total of 0 mosquito bites and I am happy about that because the dangerous diseases they give.

I used to get bit a few times a year but that was a long time ago when I actually went outside other than staying inside and stalking vizzed all day.

Ugh! Mosquitoes are jokingly referred to as our Provincial bird. They are really bad here...but amazingly, I hardly have any bites. I only have 9 right now, that I can see.

The last mosquito bite I got was... years ago. Just avoid places with lots of grasses and plants during humid weathers and you'll do fine. Obviously, avoid dirty and stagnant waters as well.

Well in England there are no mosquitos so I have got no mosquito bites, UNLESS you count gnats which are an annoying type of mosquito, I don't think gnats carry diseases but if your asking me how many bites I've got from them, I'd say about 10 so far.

Thankfully I don't have a lot of them, even though they are always out I never seem to get bit more than 2 or 3 times at most, I don't know why that is, but I'm not complaining. When I do get them though, they are rather uncomfortable and it is so tempting to scratch them, but I do everything I can do resist doing so because it will only make it worse.  This is exactly why I like winter and fall more because I don't have to worry about the ridiculous heat and the bugs/mosquitoes either. It's always good to have bug spray handy, especially during this time of year when the heat and the mosquitoes are the most brutal.

ghostfishy : I have none at the moment but they are pretty bad in Texas this time of year.  If you happen to have a bunch with no cream on hand or maybe you just want to try something that works REALLY well.  I would suggest abesol   the stuff you use to numb tooth pain.  I've never used the gel but the liquid work GREAT instantly.

I had to mow by back hard today, which is a mosquito farm. I used tons of bug spray, but still have 6 that I can see so far, probably have more. I really hate mowing the back, but I have to. Mosquito bites are the worst.

Fortunately, I have none. When I was younger though, I used to get so many of them it was ridiculous. We had to bug bomb the house once and I had to go live with my grandparents for a little while, that's how bad it was.
