I feel like shy guys are being overrated and because of this, it makes my favorite character, Sniffits, appear like way less often! They are so cute to me and I wish there were more of them in the Mario games. So, what's your favorite underrated character?

I would say that the Boomerang Bros is a little underrated thanks to their Hammer Bro sibblings. I mean, in Super Mario Bros 3 they were basically throwing socks at you It was a cool enemy to fight.

I have always thought that the Goomba enemies were the most underrated enemy of the Mario series. In the Wii U Fortune Street game, he stars as a playable character. I freaked out when I saw the Goomba being playable during an ad on a YouTube video.

I've always thought that Birdo was a fantastic enemy. He (yes, it is a 'he') just has a cheerful look and shooting eggs is an awesome power, and a force to be reckoned with. I'd say it's time that Birdo gets his own game.

The Baseball Boys from Yoshi's Island are underrated, under appreciated and underused. I like how they work together when they are both on screen!

I also think some of the dinosaur enemies ( Dino-Rhino, Rex, Eerie ) you encounter in Super Mario World are under appreciated and I am also a little sad that Nabbit didn't make it into the Mario Kart 8 roster.

I always thought Ninjis were kind of overlooked. They only appeared in Mario 2, Super Mario World, and some of the spin off stuff. They're not the toughest enemies, but a ninja enemy would work pretty well in the newer games. I'm still not sure if they're a kind of cat or what though.

I think the most underrated enemies are the Snifts, and the Goomba. Snifts are as cool as Shy Guys, plus a CANNON ON THEIR FACE! Tell me that's not awesome. And Goombas, while weak, are the definition of determination. They know they'll likely be stomped, but does that stop them? No!  They actually charge at you. What they lack in height, health, and arms they make up for in serious guts. They can even play baseball with their mouths!

I'm fond of the Goomba species. I think they are underrated because they're pretty much a brown mushroom with feet, similar to Toads, but very wimpy and killed with a simple boot to the head.
