What is the saddest death you've witnessed on TV? I know mine without a doubt from the show Merlin.
Spoiler:
It was Arthurs death when he sucumbed to his wound dealt by Mordred
.

It was one of the best and most tragic endings of a TV show. It's also my favourite show which only makes it more tragic.

Here's a link to the death scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcW3Zfbovkg&

The death I cried most for on TV was Megaman's in Megaman: NT Warrior. I was so attached to those characters, and it was probably my favorite show at the time.

Sadly, though, the most brilliant, moving deaths usually occur in movies or literature. In The Hunger Games, Rue's death moved me to more than tears. But after reading it in the book, I felt even more profoundly moved. It's one of the most well-done death scenes in all of literature, in my opinion, and really helps to set the stage for what happens next.

The most heartbreaking TV death to me was Tara Maclay's from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She was one of my favourite characters and I was just gutted afterwards. Her death was accidental and took place after a reunion of sorts. The fact that she died in Willow's arms, made the scene even more moving and heart wrenching, but it set up what happened going into the finale perfectly.

the saddest death from a T.V show in my opinion would be the death of Hare from Guilty crown because she wasn't supposed to die and she was one of the most loved characters of the show so it was very moving on how to happened.

The Umbrella in squidgirl, obviously.
On a serious note, do TV movies count?
Spoiler:
Cause the Moles death in South Park: Bigger, longer, uncut still makes me a bit teary eyed.

Blubcreator : Does anime count, or no? Because, if it does, it will probably change my answer.

Saddest T V death? I would have to go with... the old man from The Walking Dead. That's the only show that I can think of with a death, honestly. Most of the T V shows I watch are either anime, sports, or news.

I was very surprised how the series finale of Sons of anarchy affected me. That damn song kept playing in my head for days... and I still feel kind of sad.

My wife would say : NED STARK (SEAN BEAN) SERIES: GAME OF THRONES
The evil Lannisters have ensnared noble Lord Eddard Stark into a nasty King’s Landing trap. Viewers accustomed to these tropes know things are about to get dicey for the honorable hero, but that he will escape to get his retribution. It is a fantasy after all and Sean Bean’s face is on the poster.
Hence, even after the axe fell and Ned was separated from his head, some viewers still disbelieved what they saw. Ned Stark is the LEAD! This is not supposed to happen! Game of Thrones had a fantastic first season, but nothing reeled audiences in (or away) more than killing off their biggest star after only nine episodes. In a perfect world, Ned Stark would not die, especially not on his knees at the hands of the demon spawn named Joffrey Baratheon. Yet, as audiences waited for Ned to get out the trap, they watched along with helpless daughters Arya and Sansa, Ned get slaughtered by his own sword. Joffrey beamed like a snotty brat on Christmas. The only thing audiences could even hang onto was that at least one day soon, Ned’s children, especially heroic Robb, would have their revenge…

My vote would be : Gustavo Fring in 'Breaking Bad'

There has never been a better TV villain than Gustavo Fring on 'Breaking Bad' and there has never been a better TV death than his assassination by explosion. Orchestrated by Walter White but carried out by the wheelchair-bound Hector Salamanca, the powerful drug lord and fast food restaurant entrepreneur got suicide-bombed right in the face, leading to the unforgettable shot of his barely-functioning body straightening his tie one final time before collapsing to the ground. It's a grotesque and terrifying end for a character who defined himself through his grotesque and terrifying actions. It also marks the moment where Walter White officially stopped being a good guy in a bad situation and started being the most nefarious villain since ... well, Gustavo Fring.

Honorable mentions for me would be :

1.  ANASTASIA ''DEE'' DUALLA (Kandyse McClure), Battlestar Galactica (2009)
The final episodes of BSG got off to a bleak start. Dualla, long the show's quiet conscience, had just gotten back from a romantic date with her ex-husband, Lee. The stage seemed set for a triumph-of-the-human-spirit plotline. She looked at herself in the mirror, grinned... and then raised a gun to her forehead and fired. About as troubling and despairing as TV death gets.

2. LORI GRIMES (Sarah Wayne Callies), The Walking Dead (2012)
Even by the harsh standards of post-apocalyptic undead-infested America, Lori Grimes had a rough time of it. First, her husband Rick died of a pre-zombie-attack gunshot wound. No sooner had she found solace in the arms of her husband's best friend when — twist! — Rick showed up, alive and well. Then — double twist! — Lori had her own private Mamma Mia! Hell when she became pregnant. (Potential Daddy #1 wound up killing Potential Daddy #2.) By the time the survivors found refuge in a prison, Lori's husband wasn't talking to her, her son hated her, and Walking Dead fans could barely stand her. Even Lori's unborn child despised her: How else to explain the fact that Lori's contractions started right in the middle of a zombie attack? Still, you had to shed a tear for poor Lori when she selflessly sacrificed herself to save her baby. And then you had to shed a tear for innocence lost when her son stayed behind to end her undead life with a bullet in the brain.

3. RITA (Julie Benz), Dexter (2009)
Trinity (John Lithgow) was dead. Rita and the kids were sent away on vacation. After flirting with danger more than a couple times during season 4, Dexter was home and safe. Phew. But then, in those final moments of the season finale, Dexter made a call, and realized Rita's cell phone was still in the house — and so was she, having bled to death at the hands of Trinity in her own bathtub. (Say it with me, fellow Dexter fans: Nooooooo! Not Rita!) Sure, over the course of four seasons, we had grown accustomed to saying goodbye to characters both big (Hey, Doakes!) and small (catch ya later, Little Chino), but to unexpectedly kill off someone so close to Dexter's (and our) hearts — it felt downright cruel. And awesome.

Does it have to be English language? If not, then probably Ankh from Kamen Rider OOO. He willingly went into the final battle by giving up his personal Core Medal (Watch it if you want to get the lingo) and knowing what was going to happen. The fact that they started playing an acoustic version of the theme song didn't help. You knew what was gonna happen, all the other Greeed had been dying left, right and centre and I think that just made it worse.

Gah! I skimmed this thread and now I know someone else who dies in Walking Dead.

I'm only season 2, people. =P

Okay... I think the saddest TV death I've seen was the death of Ianto from Torchwood.

I've heard the ending of Burn Notice is really sad, but I'm still 2 seasons away from finishing.

I have been watching Dragon Ball Z for pretty much my whole life. Vegeta is one of my favorite characters on that show, and it was really sad when Frieza killed him. The saddest part of it was when after he was actually shot, he spilled his guts to Goku about the Saiyan race and how it was going to be wiped out if someone didn't do something about Frieza. The guy literally started to cry while he was telling the story. The first time I watched it, I almost shed a tear or two myself. Even though he was looked at as a villain at first, he was also one of the most powerful fighters on the show.

Actually, it was kind of a heart warming episode. Plus his replacement was sort of cool since he was voiced by the guy who played Paulie Walnuts in the Sopranos. But I guess all is well that ends well, eh?

Probably when Pete died from the Need for Speed movie. They were street racing, and he got rear ended by another racer. The car, a 2012 or 2013 Koenigsegg Agera R, with a price of $1,200,000, was engulfed in flames and was destroyed.

Pretty sad.

pkmntrainer2013 :

Speaking of Japanese Bugmen,

Phillip from Kamen Rider Double is the one that got me. Everything about episode 48 was done pretty perfectly; it's rare for me to get truly emotional with television but I genuinely got all teary-eyed at the same time Shotaro did. It was a perfect ending to a mostly good show.

And then episode 49 ruined it by bringing him back. At least seeing Joker again was cool I guess.
