I'm a type advantage/disadvantage strategic trainer my Pokémon know moves of may different types so I may counter any type with a super effective hit.

I prefer to use mostly fast and strong Pokémon but I also look into the types of my Pokémon so I can cover most type disadvantages and I prefer and mostly use Fire type Pokémon.

I love to use setups where I will build my Pokémon's stats to Godlike status then sweep the fight of any and all competitors. At least until my strategy falls in on itself since it takes more than a few turns to fully use any stat boosting move.

Straight up offense. I might have a Defensive mood if it will completely immobilize my opponent, but if I can learn a new move that does a good bit of damage, you can say Good Bye to that defensive move.

It all depends on where the battle is. In game, I mostly focus on just offense. That's mostly all you need to beat the trainers in game, where PP is more important then a large amount of strategy. In competitive play though, I tend to try to use a mostly disruptive approach. I place hazards, use Knock Off, pretty much try to ruin any strategy my opponent had planned. Then I use my bulky Pokemon to take hits and attack back, or I use my stronger attackers to knock them out before they can even move.

I'm usually obsessed with having a somewhat balanced team that can do a little bit of everything so I can experience several different play styles. Same goes for types, I very rarely compile a team that has more then 3 weaknesses to any type of moves unless it's for some specific reason. I also enjoy using Pokemon that have unique strategies such as Wobbuffet (with it's counter and magic coat moves) and Shedinja (due to wonderguard and having 1hp) though I've never made a team completely revolving around it.

pokemaster87 : I too agree with being on the offensive but, to be honest, I think it's more of being strategic in battle. I mean, think of it, if you have a strategy planned out for your battles, then you will have a good outcome. Putting your opponent to sleep will prevent them from attacking you. So Yeah Hypnosis would be good to use but, the accuracy is kinda low so, I would choose to go with Sleep Powder or Spore.

Don't get me wrong, though, it's always good to go on the offensive. Just think of planning strategical moves in your battles.

I don't have anymore to say. We all have our own ways to go about battles. So I wish y'all happy battling in future Pokemon games

I'm more of a offensive battler too. But I also try to keep all my Pokémon the same level except my starter type. Sure I use a lot of Sand Attack and Sleep Powder too. But as long as my starter type is the strongest then I usually use it.

Totally agree with what pretty much everyone else is saying. Offense all the way, but I also don't battle online a lot. I usually try to type advantage and then just use their strongest moves, or moves that will get it out of the way for a turn like Fly or Dig etc.

I prefer stall, setup or Tank. I usually like pokemon that can use the move Stockpile to set up High defenses. I prefer a Strategic approach on wifi or pokemon showdown battles.

While going through the games, I pretty much exclusively use offensive moves. Other than sleeping or poisoning if the Pokémon doesn't have great offensive moves, I pretty much always used attacks. Now, I do balance it out more with maybe a tank and something, but I still prefer the fast paced quick battles.

I'm different than most Pokémon trainers... Most people either think, "I'm going to train my starter Pokémon/first six Pokémon to be the strongest Pokémon ever," or they think, "I'm going to catch as many Pokémon as I can." Personally, I'm a mix between both. I train my starter Pokémon to be the strongest Pokémon it can be, but all the while, I catch all the Pokémon on a certain route. If I miss a Pokémon, I go back to get it.

That didn't say anything about my attacking, however... (oops xD). When I attack, like pretty much every person who plays Pokémon, I use all offense moves. I try to get rid of leer and growl first, like most people do. If I ever need to put a Pokémon to sleep/make it so a Pokémon can't leave a battle (Abra), then I take a Pokémon I've already caught out of the box and use that Pokémon to put it to sleep/use Mean Look. Like I said above, I get rid of all the moves that don't attack the other Pokémon unless they aren't one of my first 6 Pokémon.

That's all I've got to say about how I am as a trainer. Going all out is my strategy and it works in every game . I do the same thing in Safari Zones, I just keep throwing pokeballs. It's the fastest and most accurate way of catching the Pokémon based on my experience . Peace .

I generally try to beat the story mode with only 6 pokemon so I try to get a fairly balanced party that can use all the HMs

Then I use TMs to cover any elements that I know I will have trouble with. I don't think I've ever used status moves outside of the mystery dungeon games because offence covers everything fairly well.

I like a combiation of offense and defense. When I have a defensive pokemon I usually give it a status move like toxic. If I have and offensive pokemon I give it a variety of move types so it's not one-dimensional and I also like the moves to have 100 accuracy and high power.

pokemaster87 : It depends on who I'm fighting. As a default, I just level one Pokémon up to the point where he can deliver a devastating attack before the opponent can respond. If I'm fighting someone with a higher level my goal switches to keeping it asleep. I once came across a legendary and most of Pokémon were already unconscious. The legendary Pokémon was about four times more powerful than the last one I had, but I still captured it because it was asleep the whole battle.

I'm all offense. I use dragon types and those kinds. I don't use defense and I use no self healing moves or anything like that.

I would normally go with all attacks because defensive moves, sure, you can increase your stats or decrease your opponent's stats, but at the same time, that is a whole move you wasted and your opponent can possibly defeat you.
