Funny you should ask this because, as a gamer, I do like to recommend games. That's only if the game itself is good. If I don't like the game, I won't recommend it because I have no idea what other people would think of the game. Will they like what I don't? What kind of games do they like to play? What are the genre of games?

These are the questions I usually think about before I recommend any game to any people.

I honestly prefer not to recommend anything but from the genres I like. If I have to tho I will go to  game sites just to get them some suggestions if I don't play that genre. I tend to recommend games I think they will like from their preferred genre. If it is a genre I am not into or do not play much then I will recommend something I have seen from game sites ( along with that recommend I tell them it's from a website rating ). To me price and all does not matter as long as the game has a good story development and the game play is attention grabbing. Heck I've played great games that have ranged in cost from two dollars on up to one hundred dollars. A great game is just that ... a great game. 

When I play a new game and I enjoy it and I think that another person will enjoy it as well, I'll recommend it to them. They don't always buy the game but at least I tried to convince them to buy it that's how I look at it.

It depends. I mean, most of the time, yes, I will. If I am in the store, and I am looking at games, and then another custom comes up and starts asking an employee of the store about the games, and the employee looks like they have no idea what the customer is talking about, then I will help. 

Last year around Christmas time, I was in Wal-Mart, and the person working electronics had no idea what another customer was talking about, so I came in and answered some questions for the customer. Next thing I know, the employee comes over, and thanks me for helping him sell over $1,000 worth of stuff, because I recommended a certain system, accessories, and quite a few games. 

I mean, I tend to find out what people like before I go recommending games, and then base that off of what I have played or what my friends have played and told me about. 

I recommend/chastise games through my reviews mainly. Since I've never been a hardcore gamer - I've never had a gaming console that was "the best" for its time - I couldn't recommend it like, say, recommend a book, whose lifespan is usually longer

i would but most people i know dont like the same genre as me sadly. I only recommend games i actually thought that are worth the time playing.

I've never actually though about this, but no. I never recommend games to people. I've always thought of gaming as a more personal experience.

thing1 : Wow, that's a pretty cool story. xD Sounds like you're about as serious about Video Games as I am. I rarely find that.

janus : I know how you feel, I just now got a GameCube this past week. lol So keep the GameCube reviews coming for me, huh? But hey, at least we can recomend games to the people on here who haven't played most of the older games that we have, right? xD

I sometime recommend games to people mostly if it's really great games that I happened to play, I do sometimes mention them in my reviews that I make that I recommend these games to play on.

I recommend any game to any of my friends as long as I like the game. Because, it just wouldn't make sense to recommend a game that you don't like, now would it?

Eirinn : Yeah I recommend games only if someone asks for a recommendation or it is a game I felt was very interesting, but mostly I recommend only games I have tried out myself which are games that are mostly RPG games. I'm not really that capable of keeping my attention with games lately. There is no pizzazz in games as they use to make games at least that is what I am guessing at since I can't seem to play a whole game without getting bored to save my life anymore. I don't know why my interest in games has drastically dropped, but there are few games that I found really good that I would recommend to someone else, such as Fantasy Life for the 3DS. Also I have never really been a fan of multiplayer games because it makes me feel like I have to show off in front of people, but due to low interest levels and feelings of I can't perform better than most other people I play against, I just don't play at all in multiplayer sessions, I would find another game to just try out the beginning of a game then put that down and try a different game in a continuous cycle until I can't find any other games to play then occasionally I go back to other games I have played and play them again for getting deeper into the story.

One thing I do a lot is that ill explain the gaming I'm playing right now to one specific friend because he and I are like 'da gamer buds'  and it sometimes goes from that game to some similar game and if he knows it but hasn't played it but I have ill recommend it but ill never out right say yes dude you have to play this unless I actually know he'll like it

It was kind of hard to vote in this poll honestly. I actually do all of the above except not at all. I like to play new games with friends and recommend cool games and great games to them as well.
