As for the second question, I just hope you're not actually asking us the names of the popular users so you could add them as friends, but I can't answer that either as I don't know much about you so I won't be able to recommend potential friends. You'd have more luck lurking and posting around the forums while hanging out in the chat rooms (I think that's the faster way to make friends with the other users. )

And the second part of your post annoyed the heck out of me. The people on your friends list should be your friends. NOT people that are popular. There is nothing more annoying than people that just add all of the staff and elites just because they think it will make them look good. No one will think of better of you if you have the entire staff in your friends list than if you have 20 newbies on your friends list.

That depends on your interests and what you like and don't like. Like Juliet and pacman1755 said, the most popular members are the ones who do the most for the site. And like tgags123 said, don't add random people on your profile that you have never talked with. Of course, I like Davideo7 as much as anyone here but I've never had a long, interesting talk with him so that's why I don't add him to my friends list.

Last but not least, it's smart to post in the forums when you have little time and to go the chat when you have a lot of time, the chat can be very active and funny while the forums are better to see how people are there and their opinions on things.
