The title says it all. What silly things have you been paranoid about? Just to name a few, and remember, a lot of these are from my childhood.

When I was always home alone, I heard strange sounds that always came out of nowhere and scared me half to death. I always thought somebody had a vendetta against me and was trying to kill me.

After hearing so many stories on the news, I always checked nine times a day to see if the stove was off.

I always felt as if somebody or something was hiding in my garage, so whenever I got out of the garage, I ran like crazy.

When I accidentally said something wrong at school to somebody, I was paranoid that he or she would tell on me and I would get in big trouble, so I spent every minute in class stressing over it.

When I went to my fifth grade graduation party one of the fifth graders were holding, a bunch of people decided to prank call, and I thought the police, or something, would get involved.

Since the light switch in my room is in an awkward place, I have to go behind the door to turn on the light. When I turn off the light in my room, I always rush to my bed, as if there's demons in my room. (I still do this)

One time, in the middle of the night, I heard a ripping sound that sounded like it was coming from one of the corners of my room. It was just my Star Wars poster falling off the wall, so I used push pins instead of tape for all my posters. Then the next night, I heard the same ripping sound, despite all my posters being push pinned.

I used to be paranoid that a scary guy from the blue man group would come to my door and knock on it and I would open the door and he would be there and he would stare at me and then grab my face and pull me into his mouth where a portal was and I would teleport to a distant planet where all there is on the planet are cowboys and stereotypical old women and it rains death and I would be stuck there forever unless a scary guy from the green woman group would come and eat me and teleport me back to my house which would never happen.

But hey, that's scientifically impossible, right?

On a more serious note, the basement. My basement is terrifying. It's very big and there are literally hundreds of terrifying spiders there. I used to be scared that there was the Grim Reaper there or something, so I would be scared to death to go down there. And if I did go down there, I would run up the stairs as fast as I could when I was done doing what I needed to do down there. Come to think of it, I still do run up the stairs. I just get this chilling feeling every time I'm going up the stairs.

I a really paranoid about a few things.

I am afraid that something is going to get me in the dark so when I walk around he house at night I turn on all the lights as I go.

The second thing I used be paranoid that while in the school bathroom a spider or bug was going to come out of no where and bite me.

Or that something is going to knock me down the stairs so I always run up them.

And last but not leas the most ridiculous of them all. I am afraid that I will be driving on the interstate and pass by a 18 wheeler and one of the nuts from their tires pops off goes through the glass, hits me in the head and kills me. Yup... crazy right?

I can't really think of much I'm paranoid about. I remember when I was young and I lived in Alaska, I hated taking the garbage out at night. I always thought (for some odd reason) there would be rabid dogs around the dumpster and that they might attack me. I'd approach with all my senses heightened, slowly.... straining to hear every possible noise. Then I'd dash back to the house with my heart pounding, as fast as I could. The odd thing is that I had no reason to feel this way. There never had been rabid dogs there, nor any stories surrounding that possibility.

My husband on the other hand... he -defines- paranoid. He doesn't like ceiling fans because he is afraid they will fall from the ceiling. He will not tell me passwords in our own home, because 'someone' might be listening. And if he sees a tick or is out in the woods, he tosses the clothing he was wearing at the time.

This is a very, VERY small sample of his paranoias...

I'm paranoid about a few things, some of these might end up happening

The first being that the US government wants to take my guns away. This is because some politicians have called for Americans to be disarmed.

The government is watching me and watching whatever I say. I guess that comes from the NSA spying scandal and Patriot act. I guess I believe down the road that our government will become more communist and start to crack down on what people say.

I'm not paranoid about the dark, but I used to be terrified of my basement at night, especially with the lights on. Because of the way it was built (it's hard to explain) it feels as if someone or something is going to come and stab me in the back. When I first learned about creepypastas like Slenderman and Jeff the Killer, I was very paranoid about them being there. Nowadays, my basement still gives me the creeps, but I don't think anything's going to backstab me. And I certainly know creepypastas are not real...or are they...

I've been, for a looong time, paranoid about sleeping with my back to a door or a window.
I don't know for how long this paranoia has been going on, but I think it's four to five years at least.
I think it started after a horrible nightmare I had where some kind of really creepy cat-like animal with ENORMOUS eyes stalked me in every window close to me. The animal just sat there, watching me with those huge eyes, never blinking, not even moving, just sitting on the windowsill. The scariest thing about the dream was that I live on the 10th floor but still the cat, or whatever it was, had jumped up and sat there...

That's my silly paranoia, what's yours?
Please note: I love cats, they're the cutest thing ever, but the thing in my dream was NOT a cat, just some creepy cat-like monster.

Well, I have been paranoid about something that is probably not very common and very weird....

When I was a little kid, I was playing on my playstation 2, and I ALWAYS make sure that the TV I'm using is PRECISELY on the center of the wall in the room. Why? I simply had no idea. And if I were to play on my ps2 without the TV exactly on the center of the wall, I just keep jumping a little on my spot. I'm just that weird when I was a little kid. But eventually, I stopped doing that as I grew older.
