Cab games were brilliant you go tot sit on the ride or in the ride.
They don't make the transition to mame very well.

but I remember 360 degree flying games and full sized Ferrari sit in games.

Games like that was good back then. But not anymore, as modern games now are hd, graphic wise and more. Not a lot of people would play these types of games anymore....

Back then, games weren't as immersive , so, they used those rides and things like that. Certainly they are obsolete. But still cool to remember and think of.

BluemageKyle : I think that games were more immersive. The controls were better and the gameplay on games was more incredible than now. That is what make a game immersive. Also i'm not 16, I'm 11. Also It was 1996 Link to the past was out. OOT was nearly out.


Since I'm 11 I don't. But I played it once and I enjoyed it.

Totts :  I too think the ride on and sit in games were clever and add a new dimension to the arcade.

The first ride on game I remember that caught my eye was "Hang On."  It was a crotch rocket motorcycle racing game.  What I think made it cool was that on sharp turns, you had to completely lean all the way over to the point your knee was barely off the ground, just like in real life.

The first shot in game I recall playing was the original Star Wars wire frame flight game.  You do the trench run on the Death Star.  It has real dialogue, music, and sound effects from the movie.  Also, I loved the 3D effect of the wire frame graphics

One other worth mentioning was "Afterburner."  Heavy action, quite colorful, and the best ones were the sit in machines.  They would tilt left, right, back, and forth, depending on the direction you're steering your fighter jet.

Fun stuff.
