Depends on the type of bunkbed. Personally I would choose the bottom if it was a bigger than the top but if I were forced to be on a normal twin size I would choose top. Prefer just watching people go by if I were above them.

Top. The pranks are to real. Especially when there's multiple bunkbeds in the room, the people on top have the upper hand. Although sleeping on the bottom saved probably my life once, I still prefer the top.

What happened was I was chilling with 3 friends in a hotel room (we were on a school trip), and we started to make a mess. We decided to troll my friend, who had to clean the room. So we all threw our slippers spread in the room. He got annoyed at that, and threw them right to the ceiling. He hit the lamp, and the thing fell down. Luckily I was in my bed then, because it hit the bed above me. 

I got revenge by using the classic hand-in-warm-water prank.

Top. I feel very unsafe in the bottom bunk, especially with worry of collapse. The odds of it actually falling on top of you are low, but it still scares me enough to never want to be in the bottom bunk. Though it is not like I ever actually use bunk beds... yet.

I have no problems with the bottom but I choose the botttom since my normal bed is pretty high too. I've never seen any of those bed bunk jokes

I use to have a bunk bed...for some reason, since I live in my room by myself, and I seem to enjoy the bottom bed over the top. Maybe it's because the top bunk was so close to the ceiling you could taste it.

I can't believe (according to the polls), that the bottom bunk is more popular!  LOL I always slept on the bottom, but that's because I was a nice sister.    Everyone in my family always wanted the top bunkers, for sure!  It's new and different and exciting!  (And besides that, I've always enjoyed being up high, I guess.)

I never had to sleep in a bunk bed before but my bothers had one cause they shared a room growing up. If I had to sleep on one than it would be the top cause I always sleep close to the floor.

I like the Top bunk, that way I wont have to worry about the top bunk collapsing onto me and I'll also be harder to get to. I don't really mind climbing up and down all the time that much, also I'd already be used to it as I used to have a bed when I was little which required me to climb up and down a ladder all the time.

I will be honest in saying i was a bottom bunk kind of person, because i have a big, when i say big, i mean BIG fear of something coming out from under me. I'd rather be squished than fall. But this past time that i went to an overnight camp and i felt like sleeping next to my new friends, i found out the nearest spot was a top bunk. So instead of sleeping with my, lone, anti-social self, i thought maybe i could try it. And i actually don't mind it as much. So, I would go with Top bunk now.

When I was younger, I preferred the top bunk. Now, I prefer the bottom bunk if I had to choose for some reason. I do not really know why. I just know that I fell off the top bunk one time during A I T , and since then, I hate sleeping on a top bunk.
