As much as we adore them, we have to admit it - superheroes like Superman and Batman in tights, underwear, capes, and other ridiculous outfits make up way too much of the comic book market. This is not a bad thing - it's just a fact. Most of the time, when someone hears the word 'comic book', they would think of a tale revolving around some superhuman guy with a sidekick and a group of friends busting baddies. Well, too many of those are out there, and there are plenty of other comic book series that are just as good, if not better, that tell stories of other types of characters from animals to ordinary humans to imaginary creatures - not just limited to some guy with big-as-life muscles in some colorful suit and cape saving the damsel in distress all the time. Which ones are your favorites?

Personally, Archie Andrews is where it's at.

Favorite non-superhero comic? Definetly Slightly Damned, which also doubles as my favorite comic of all time! It's a pretty crazy/awesome twist on the classic "Heaven VS. Hell" formula, with equal parts humor, drama, suspense and action, some brilliant use of foreshadowing, one of the best (if not the best) fantasy worlds of all time and art superior to any webcomic out there. It's an amazing read, so everyone here should check it out!

NintendoFanKimmy :

I enjoy reading the Sonic Archie comics, and I agree with you that many comics are all too similar.

Sonic is colorful, and different, with an adverse world filled with variety, combining stories revolving around the war and terror caused by Dr. Robotnik, and the (ugh) Acorn Kingdom alongside, (YEAH!) G.U.N. to fight his Tyranny. It just has a lot going on with characters, places and powerful skills. The character development is good, and characters actually have family and such.

It's just pretty fun to read, and Ian Flynn is really creative. I love it.

Oh, and it's clean.

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

My Favorite Non-superhero would have to be Rick from the walking dead. Just a guy who woke up from a coma to a world of the walking dead. As he tries to rebuild the world in a sick world full of dead an evil people. Any one who loves zombie films will read and reread this comic over and over.

So, they really are the same thing. Not trying to be rude. Jus' Sayin'. Just seems unfair to only exclude comics from one country.

sop281 : Mkay.

Let's see... I like Dirk Jan, which is a Dutch comic. And I like Spike and Suzy (known as Suske en Wiske in Dutch) as well, two kids who have the most crazy adventures.

If we're just talking regular comics, I'm definitely going with Sonic Universe. I know it's supposed to go hand in hand with the regular Archie Sonic comics, but I enjoy Universe more because it focuses more on the other characters.
If webcomics come into play, though, my favourite is probably either 8-Bit Theatre or Exterminatus Now.
8-Bit Theatre is a bit of a parody on the old Final Fantasies (Forget which one) Where Warrior is the idiot, Thief is the klepto leader, Red Mage is dumb AND obsessed with stats and Black Mage has the hots for White Mage and wants to kill everyone else. It's full of detrimental humour and it does have a unified story.
Exterminatus Now, however, is more of a comic that has story arcs (much like the sonic comics). It is full to the brim with dark comedy, and it's not something I would recommend until you are an adult or mature teenager. However, the dark, if sometimes crude, comedy is something I really enjoy. For those interested, it involves the Mobian Inquisition as they work to stop Cults from summoning any Great Demons or anything bad like that.
Also, if you want, you could change the title to Favourite Non Superhero Western Comic or something.
