You lost your elite status because you were banned for breaking the rules.

This is not a server error, it's how the system is designed.

The logic is, if you get banned, you don't deserve to be an elite.

It's happened to about 3 or 4 elites over the past couple years, and I think one of them has even become an elite again.

The only person who can hand out elite status is David, so the mods wouldn't be much help there, though I would imagine you are unlikely to get elite back by asking.
