Like Rasen said both Sonic Rush games are good and that Sonic RPG.
New Super Mario Bros is a great game to play on the DS, Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is an excellent one.

Though I suggest getting a non Nintendo game for the DS. Like the Phoenix Wright series or Trauma Center.
