As probably none of you actually know, I am a senior in highschool and will be graduating this year, in less than a month really.

Now, you'd think that I would naturally be overly excited about leaving the craphole that is high school, especially one like mine, but that's not necessarily the case here. I'm not sad, happy, or even excited to any large degree. If anything, I'm a little afraid to be leaving everything I know as a high school student who is used to things being extremely easy, where I have to put forth minimal effort to make all A's and B's in my classes. I'm going from something like that to what I assume to be the 'monster' of college to study Computer Engineering(which is likely to change after Freshman year since I might want to follow different path). It only seems like a monster to me because of how much of a blow-off high school seems to be thus far. It will probably be a lot different not actually living in my own house, in my own bed, alone. That may or may not be what makes me afraid the most since I'm such a socially ill person, but I guess I'm fairly easy-going and pretty easy to get along with. It might be alright.

I think either way, college with still be a grand adventure. I will have my best friend and girlfriend, Kimmie, beside me at the college we will be attending, as well as a few other friends. With all the studying, classes, band stuff, friends and girlfriend, and who knows what else I might have to encounter in college, it will definitely be a fun, new experience that will be enjoyable and wonderful.

Anyone else in or going to college soon?

I am in college and am about to finish my 1st year in community college. I have got to say that in the beginning it starts off stressful but over time you begin to get used to it and adapt to your new schedule. I have met a bunch of really interesting and new people and still keep in touch with some of my old friends. You should be happy that you are transitioning to this new stage of your life and take it with your chin up and your head held up high because you are moving forward with your life. Be happy, try to take your studies seriously and hopefully everything will turn out well for you.

pi0x : Congratulations man, I'll be graduating after 3 years... Anyways, In the first grade I also was the kid who easily got high numbers but now I've got to work harder so I can understand that it's hard to lose your easy life.

Well congratulations. I just finished my first year in college and it was a lot of fun. There's so much more for you to do, but don't forget to keep up with all of your work. All the new adventures really took a toll on how much time I put into studying.

Man where did the time go? It feels like yesterday when we first chatted on here. You seem to have a solid plan for yourself though, anything with computers will be in demand. Honestly I have a lot of problems talking to people too >-< but I'm sure you can overcome it. I wish you all the best

Oh man that's awesome! Con"grad"ulations! (Please don't hurt me!)

It's especially cool that you and Kimmie are going to the same college. That should be a lot of fun for you two! As for how difficult it will be... Well, from my experiences, undergraduate studies are kind of a joke. Especially for general education classes. If you put forth the mildest amount of effort, you'll do fine. As for your more major specific courses... Well, if it's something you're generally interested in, you'll have no problem soaking up information and learning new things, and then you'll ace everything they throw at you. If you're having a lot of difficulty, it may just mean you're not as interested in that subject as you thought, but that's fine! That's what college is for! Experiment! Try different types of classes, you never know what might pique your interests!

And as for friends, your internet friends will always be here, rooting for you!

Congrations. You done it.

No, but in all seriousness I think you will do great. You and Kimmie are two of my most brainiest friends, so I think you will do fine. I suspect you'll make good marks and find a few really good friends, as well.

Though it might be intimidating, you strike me as a person who would be able to adjust to college life really well, for what it's worth. Go get 'em.

I know how you feel. When I graduated high school I had a unique feeling. I was happy because I did what some said I would not be able to do (I went on to college and I have Autism for those that do not know). However, why I did not miss the rules and stuff I did miss my friends I left behind. I was nervous going into college as I would be going to a strange place and new world.

After my first term in college, it was like it was nothing the anxious feeling was gone. My advice would be to just study hard and you should do fine. That is cool that you are going to study Computer Engineering.  Anyway, I hope that God Blesses you and that you go far and congrats on graduating
