I'm thinking about recreating Noah's Ark on the Vizzed Minecraft server, if anyone is interested in helping out, let me know. We'd populate it with all the different animal types in Minecraft.

I'd probably base it off of Answers In Genesis's model:




They provide the dimensions and probably have the most accurate designs. What I might do is create a football field and use that as a reference and build the ark on that. Once finished, I'd use WorldEdit to cut the ark and then paste it on to a huge body of water. Or to be funny, I could build it on land and then flood the entire area so that it ends up being on water.

To take things a little further, I could do a time lapse of it being put together and then submit the video if it being build on YouTube. If I did this, I'd of course need to find or create a Noah skin and skins to represent his son's as well (which would be anyone who helps me out).

You might want to give people an actual reason to go there, though I can't think of anything that would help with that. Also, why not give it a personal flair to make it more yours; you're making it, so you have all artistic license to change it however you like. You can make it look far more epic.

Tails the Fox : I'd be building it for historic purposes so I'd want it to be historically accurate, there'd be no real purpose beyond that. Users would just go it to be awed, the same reason users check out other creations made by other users. Not all art needs to have a personal flair. It's like the famous painters who painted portraits of people or the users on the server who recreate sprites, it's all about being as accurate as possible sometimes.

I guess I could stop by and help out every once in a while now that I am free.

zanderlex : Noah had 3 sons which means a total of 4 people worked on the ark. Since I want to replicate that, I'd have 3 people help me but they'd have to be people who are able to invest maybe like 8-12 hours a week into the project.

zanderlex : If you're on 10 hours a day that would mean you'd be able to spare 8-12 hours a week lol, that comes out to be an average of just over an hour a day. But we'd probably do it 3 days a week at 4 hours on each of those 3 days.

If you're going to cut & paste the ark, why not paste it on a mountain? That's where it ended up.

Surgiac : Yeah I've been debating on where it should be placed, either on water or on top of a mountain.

I'd like to help. I've never done that though so it'll be a first. As I always said, the buildings I like to create are mostly dungeons with traps, puzzles and creatures. Then the houses and cities come, which is not my speciality and finally other stuff such as a replica of Noah's Ark. However, it could a great experience for me.

Looks like I have 3 users who are interested, which is the exact amount I need.

That means during the beginning of the month, right? It works for me. Now, will it be during the morning, the afternoon or the evening? That's the question. However, I'm not going to let this project down, oh no. I'm a chosen one and I have a mission to accomplish with my teammates

Laian : Once all of you guys give me the hours you're available on those 3 days, then we can come up with a time to do this. Yeah we could aim for the beginning of next month but if it doesn't work out, we can aim for another week.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I'm available anytime from noonish-4pm CT. Also, I'm available on all three days anytime after 10pm CT for the entire night. Thursdays, I'm open from about 2-5pm CT, and anytime after 7pm CT generally. I can be flexible, and make mornings work if needed/wanted.

I usually stay awake until 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM (which stands for 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM in France). During my afternoon, I record my daily video and making it but, for this project, I can make an exception and work on my videos during the morning. Or pre-record these 3 videos, it's a possibility. No, it shouldn't be a problem.

So right now I'm thinking 12 PM - 4 PM central time on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and the following week. That'd be a total of 16 hours and should be way more than enough time to complete the ark.

Do those times work for all of you?

I believe these dates work for me, I don't know of any conflicting events starting next week.

So, we would start when I go eat. Well, I'll be a bit late unless I force my parents to make the dinner earlier than usual (that's the problem when you live at your parents' home because you can't afford your own home at the moment ). And , that's the problem with time difference as well. Otherwise, I'm fine with that. Now, either I can ask my parents to eat earlier, or I have your permission to come a bit later and work a bit more after in order to have a full 4 hours of work. Geez, my explanation sounds kind of confusing, come to think of it ha ha

I've decided that I'll be postponing production on the Ark by 1-4 weeks. After thinking about it more, I realized that there's going to be a lot of time involved with planning this. For example, we need to figure out a way to go about this so we're not interfering with each other and I still have to make custom character skins that we'd be using while working on the Ark.

Anyways, I'll let you all know when I think I'd be ready to begin working on this.
