About ten (haha) years ago, I was forced to go to a chiropractor due to a nearly crippling sciatic nerve pain. They used one of these electrical impulse machines on me then. At first it actually felt pretty good, but at about the 10-15 minute mark I kept getting the overwhelming desire to reach under my skin and scratch muscles.

It turns out that this pain was caused by my sleeping with one leg hiked up for most of the night. Along with the TENS machine, some exercises and changing the way that I sleep the pain eventually subsided. Now, whenever I feel a slight pain in my lower back I just do those exercises that I learned for a couple of days and the pain goes away.

Also, I try to be mindful about the positions that I choose to sleep in. (starting off anyways)

I would honestly put up with the aches instead of becoming part of Liquid Ocelot's Insurrection.

Nanomachines seem interesting though, its funny they actually got around to something like it.

Seriously though, for those suffering large amounts of pain, it could help, I certainly support the idea, but wonder if it could become malicious or have any way of modification, sure it takes pain away, but what if it changes something else.
