So I was wanting to talk about a video game, and there just so happens to be a thread dedicated to the specific thing I wanted to talk about. The only thing is... the last post in that thread was made two years ago, in 2012. Am I allowed to bump that thread by replying, or should I make a new thread talking about the same thing?

There's generally no rules against bumping, but it really depends on the forum. You see, mods have different views on whether a thread and the contents of it should be bumped or not. So I recommend asking the mods of the forum if it's okay to bump said thread, or to make a new one instead.

As stated by Mistress, just post in it. Because of the auto close system David put in place, there is no longer any way to bump a thread. If it is a thread where you can add a ton to the first post repost it, but if you wouldn't add much, just bump it.

I would post in it if I were you, I am no mod or anything, but depending on how long it has been inactive or not, or if they allow this forum to be bumped or not, I don't really see the harm in doing in, considering that it will just close automatically thanks to the new feature that david put into place. Then again I am just a regular trusted member, so I would just wait for the mods to get back to you on that.
