I've been kind of surprised to see this one being my top submission but I guess it works. I was honestly expecting another one to be my top submission. Well, not "Wood Carving Partita" considering it's classical, baroque style and it's not really the cup of tea for everyone but at least the main theme of Jade Cocoon. Oh well, I did my best. However, as I said earlier, I'll get my rematch. I'll work harder on the next "Videogame Soundtrack Contest"

Too bad I haven't got enough Viz to buy PSX-emulator yet; I definitely would have included some songs from FFVII and VIII. Maybe I'll have it by the time this contest gets a sequel. Anyway I'm glad to see my Super Metroid-upload got so many votes.

If you ever choose to do something like this again there should be some prize for the song that got most votes (in this case Awesome-Kids Sonic the Hedgehog theme).

Laian : The votes surprised me in some ways as well, I had no idea that the Wild Arms theme song would be my top submission, I thought for sure Aerith Theme Song would be. I was also surprised that the Fear Factory song from Donkey Kong Country had so few votes, that to me is one of the greatest DKC songs ever. That's the thing with music though, everyone has their own unique opinion and they're completely entitled to like whatever they want

Gamin'Gal : I think users tend to enjoy songs more that they're familiar with. I rated Yoshi's Island theme and the Aquatic Ambience and I've played both the games that they're from but I think maybe the reason I didn't enjoy your other submissions as much is because I've never played those games. If I listened to those other songs a few more times though than maybe I'd enjoy them more, sometimes I like a song more after listening to it a few times which is weird.

Thinking on it, I suppose that makes sense. I myself like most songs first time around, but there have been a couple that had to grow on me. I guess I have a better idea for next time.

Gamin'Gal : Also something to consider. While music can make the game, sometimes a game can also make the music.

A song might normally be considered only "ok" but if it's paired with a very good or dramatic scene in a game, than that song can jump from "ok" to "great". For example, the Aeris Theme Song is probably one of my most favorite video game songs ever but that might be because it was paired with what I thought was the most memorable gaming moment ever.
