What do you think is the greatest song in a retro game? Find that game, find the music within that game and record it!

RULES and INFO:
-You can submit up to 5 submissions
-All of the votes that each of your submissions get add up to your total vote count
-You can not edit your video in any way, it needs to be raw footage
-Be sure to let me know in this thread which videos you've uploaded
-Be sure to specify which game and system each submission is for
-Your videos must be uploaded to the vizzed youtube account
-You must record your videos with the RGR Plugin
-You may do the same game as someone else but not the same song for the same game
-You cannot do the same song as someone else, even if the same song belongs to a different game (unless the song sounds significantly different)
-Each submission needs to be 1 video, not a video broken into parts so if your video is broken into parts, you can use a program like Freemake to merge them into 1 video (the only exception are videos that are longer than an hour, if you're unable to upload a video that is more than an hour long due to it being too big, than you can split it into parts but each part should be an hour or more long each, unless it's the last part)
-You must add your video to the game's page (which should happen automatically when you upload your video to the vizzed youtube account)
-You can only use an external recording program (like Camtasia) for N64, 32X and Sega CD games since they don't support video recording but the quality must be good. You may also use an external program for PSX and MAME games that don't record properly.
-Once the competition is over, this will go into voting and we will figure out who the winner is by tallying up the votes of all of their submissions.

Tip: If the game lets you listen to each song from the game on the options screen (sometimes referred to as the sound test page), you may do your recording from that. You may also mute all sounds (some games support this in the options) for when you're playing on the level that has the music you want to capture.

Prizes:
1st = 10,000 Viz
2nd = 2,500 Viz
3rd = 1,000 Viz

This may be the only RGR competition I'll ever compete in. Because I love video game music. So they can all be from different games? Can I have multiple from the same game?

Does the video has to be recorded on the stage/screen the music plays in or it can be recorded through the sound test (for games who have such menu)? Because I frickin' love old-school videogame music, but I rarely have the skill to reach the parts where the best songs are played D:

I am NOT wasting any time on this!

My first submission is Donkey Kong Country's (SNES) Bonus Room Blitz music. It's a nice, upbeat song that will make you want to hunt down all those secret bonus rooms.

Link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dDxx19h7g4

How I recorded it: (I really hope we can use the Sound Test for this competition)

On the File Select Screen, highlight Erase Game. Then press the following buttons in order: (Down, A, R, B, Y, Down, A, Y.)

A sound effect should chime, now just press Select to cycle through all the songs(in this case, I pressed it 17 times for Bonus Room Blitz).

My second submission is Super Mario Land's (GB) main Overworld theme, which is another short, upbeat song.

Link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzNTxNJgOPA

Good luck guys!

EDIT #674: Added system names to games because I forgot those.

The awards start at 3rd, 4th, and 5th; is there some super-prize for 1st and 2nd place?

Also my first pick is going to be the Moon track from Duck Tales for NES. It's short and fun, and it has that tune you know you've heard even if never having played the game before.

That is if the video will ever load. If not then I guess it would still be up for grabs.

Edit: video has been posted, moon theme is mine! Muahahaha!

I know there will be plenty of competition, but I'm just glad it uploaded

Ah, that could be interesting. I have some music in mind, music that I really enjoy, but they usually are played later in the game. So the only option is to speedrun through the game, which I'm not really good at since I'm a hardcore gamer ha ha

I'd like to give this contest a shot, hopefully I can spend my spare time doing this and my new walkthrough.

Davideo7 : For my first attempt, I decided to record "Bloody Tears" in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Turbo Grafx CD). (It's called Poison Mind here, but everywhere else it's Bloody Tears.) It's my favorite iconic song in the Castlevania series and this, I believe, is the best rendition of it.

My second possible entrant is going to be one that may not be expected at all, but trying to play to the one I was going to use originally it struck me as speaking volumes.  I'm not sure what the track is called, but it plays during X and Zero's dialogue after the first fight with Vile.

Davideo7 : For my second attempt, I will present "Life in the Mines" from Donkey Kong Country (SNES). I feel it is an under-appreciated song when it is overshadowed by Donkey Kong Country 2's soundtrack with songs like "Stickerbrush Symphony", but this one strikes me as much more atmospheric and soulful while still having a memorable tune.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp_DrZm5JHE

As of now, this video is processing, so you might want to wait for almost an hour.

I Love VGM so I thought this competition would be fun.

I saw a limit of 5 videos, so heres my idea of what im going to do.

Happy song, Sad song, Peppy song, dark song, weird song. I'll start with happy mostly because this song is one of my favorites. (People tell me I'm to old for hamtaro but they don't even know why I like it)

The first one is Tottoko Hamtaro From the Japanese version of Ham-Ham heartbreak. They used the Japanese beginning theme for this and I think this one is better than the American one, Hamtaro time.

Will edit post as soon as I finish the others.

1. SNES: Super Metroid - Brinstar Red soil area
A great atmospheric track from one of the greatest games ever made. I especially love how it constantly adds more instruments to the basic tune, making it more and more intense, and finally culminates at about 1.32 with piano melody.

2. SNES: Super Castlevania IV: The submerged city
Surprisingly jazz and prog rock oriented theme for such an intense game. Great bassline and flute-solos.

3. NES: Metroid: Norfair
Classic tune from the original Metroid. There are other versions with more instruments and such, but I kinda prefer the original version in all it's 8-bit glory.

I think that this is it for me. I wish I could have included Fourside from Earthbound, but I guess I accidentally wrote over my save because it's nowhere to be found and I can't even play the game to that point, because of loading problems with Mednafen. Someone else should upload it instead.

One question that bugs me a bit: I'm uploading my first entry for the contest and it'll be my first video. Everything is alright, the title and the description. Is it normal that my tab is showing me the "connection" thingy with the spinning green circle? Yeah, I use Mozilla as my internet browser.

Laian : Yeah, It's supposed to do that while it's uploading. It'll also seem to get stuck, but it's just taking a REALLY long time to upload. I uploaded 28 seconds and it took like 3 minutes to upload with a bunch of stuff running. I've tried the uploading with Internet Explorer, Opera, And FireFox, And they all seem to do that. It's normal to do that.
